About Video Game Sophistry:
Video Game Sophistry is an opportunity to celebrate the creators and the artistry found in Video Games. I believe that Games are the most effective medium from experiencing another world, and another way to live. Expect to see a series of videos showcasing the narratives hidden in every game, interviews with game developers, along with our bench mark weekly podcast, Dialogue Wheel.

Andy Borkowski started this program nearly 10 years ago and, in that time, it has changed from a simple YouTube show, to a radio show, a TV show and now once again a YouTube destination. Welcome to VGS.

  1. Love how so far each of the lords are a horror trope

The Duke – The extremely obese character that’s harmless themselves but whom you should be suspicious of
    Lady D – Vampire
Moreau – Merman/Creature from the lagoon

Up next; spooky doll and the fear of technology?

  2. Little note about his design. Moreau is so wretched and ugly that he literally has to remind people that he is actually nobility with that makeshift crown atop his head.

  3. i feel capcom got lazy, put so much effort in to the sisters and Lady D then just added a fish monster like other games, a longggggg back an forth labrynth for hiesenberg which was annoying , the only interesting part was angie the doll and thats breaking the laws of this genre type game, salvatore just seemed to be moe focused on the art work and then just gave him. a crappy story..

  4. I see alot of people saying Moreau is evil because of the experiments, but he that was after he got infected. We don't know it for sure, but he probably was a good and caring doctor before. If you look at his writing you can also notice how child like it is, wich makes sense since Miranda herself wrote that the Cadou severely worsened his mental state. He probably doesn't even understand what he's doing and is only doing it because of the bad influence from Miranda.

  5. This entire game is like a homage to The island of Dr Moreau, with Miranda taking the doctor's handle (it's a Victorian book and she's born Victorian era) as the remote, splicy scientist with a load of experiments seeing her as the parent and Ethan taking the lost Edward's place, we even have Moreau being the only more creature than human lord, which was the major problem in the book.

  6. It's kind of stupid if you put it into perspective:
Cadou (gift), gave D the ability to be basically imortal as long as she feasts on flesh and blood, three daughters made of insects and the ability to generate claws that would have freddy krueger cream himself over.
Heisenberg gets magneto like powers of magnetic manipulation and becomes super strong
Beneviento becomes a halugenic mastermind with the ability to create vivid dreams of baby monsters chomping their fathers
    And Moreau?
    A big disgusting fish

what even is the Cadou? Plagas had some sense to them

  7. On my first playthrough I had subtitles off as I find myself reading instead of watching the scenes but I missed a lot of dialogue not understanding what’s said sometimes so on my second run I had them on and I felt abit sorry for him he’s a sad figure, not particularly evil or malicious

  8. Even though they vivisected rose I kinda felt sad for Moreau as he was alone cause he barely accepted the cadou parasite as was made fun cuz of it. BUT he had rose flask SOOOOO he had to die
