Lets level the playing field…The console that shifted the most sales in every month of 2020 ..and sold the most 25 months in a row.. was nintendo switch. Nintendo also sold 2 switchs to every ps5 and xbox combined. Yet …nobody on you tube is talking about this in you tube world

Bought a PS5 from a scalper. No regrets on that decision. Worth every penny. I'll wait for a Series X to be on a store shelf. No hurry 'cause I have a badass gaming PC.
The systems wouldn't have solved either way. If they have online pre-order only then the ps5s will never sell properly. Scalpers will always get them.

It should be no online sales or pre orders. Should be physical sales only,but retailers are making money also so they don't care.
If anyone buys from scalpers, you're a sucker and a fool. Just don't buy from scalpers. Period. It's not worth the cost no matter how bad you want a PS5. Then they're just sitting on a bunch of console they can't sell. Nothing hurts scalpers more than an empty wallet.

We need to push for a supply side change on this. I know it might be easier to just blame the buyers-" oh bad parents/ spoiled kids" or "dumb people spending for the new flashy thing" with a solid childish line like "if nobody bought from scalpers, they wouldn't exist" or "vote with your wallets!" I think we just need to realize that to some people, $1000 just isn't a lot… Chances are, $400 feels like more for most us than 1000 for a lot of these buyers. It's super naive to blame wealthy people for acting wealthy. This needs regulation.
