  1. 17:25 twelve blocks between torches ?
That seems too close to me (like in 1.17.1 and before), mobs can only spawn in light level 0 in 1.18 and after, so each torch spawnproofs 13 blocks around it in all directions, instead of 6,
and between two torches would be 26 blocks instead of 12 (basically gaining twice 7 which was the light level at which mobs spawned)

  4. Important to note that all caves below y=-54 get filled with lava so it’s best to strip mine above that so u don’t get covered in lava

Also it’s best to use a trapdoor to go into crawl mode and mine a 1×1 strip mine instead of a 1×2 since ur exposing more blocks per block mined and mobs can’t spawn in a 1×1 tunnel

  6. once again phenomenal guides, esp coal. ever since caves and cliffs coal has been a rare resource to me while caving, even more so in 1.19
i knew it spawned higher but having the exact levels is so helpful. charcoal is great but I'd really rather use my wood for.. idk.. building?
also tip to others: get coal before you go mining. grab every bit of coal you see if you're planning to go to lower y levels, maybe a couple blocks at least. i cannot count how many times ive had to stop an expedition bc i had no more torches/fuel and ran out of logs for charcoal lol

  7. When Mining at layers that are dominantly/completely deepslate, i find a Fortune pickaxe to be better, because cobbled deepslate can be cut into every variant of the deepslate block with the stonecutter, and normal Deepslate obtained with Silk Touch can only produce ~4ish blocks. This seems odd because the opposite is true for Stone/Cobblestone.

However, this will mean that you will fill your inventory will a lot of raw materials, so I just be sure to bring a crafting table and slap it down now and again to craft raw materials into their storage blocks, saving inventory space.

This is only a good method if you like the Deepslate block variants of course.

  8. 12:59 I'd suggest bringing some magma blocks as you can stand on those for air, and they allow you to mine as if on land when you're in the bubble column. :] it's how i survive deep underwater caves since it's not easy going back up for air and in bedrock doors are waterlogged lol
