Icons Kirk Douglas, Robert Mitchum and Richard Widmark star in this sumptuous, epic tale of the brave men and women in the U.S. who left the comfort and safety of life in the East for the promise of free land a better life in the untamed West.

They pronounce Willamette Valley correctly in this movie, but not Oregon.
It's a very very boring movie, my God
YouTube Movies, thanks for this film. However, you forgot to mention in the setting the period in which the story occurred, as it relates to the date. Furthermore, you also forgot to mention the release date of this film.
I think some of those horses and mules are from Gunsmoke! Ruth and Buck! Maybe not…
Hollywood in the 60’s was already Saturated with sex.
The cinematography is great. However, the storyline is unbearably horrible.
I hope that Trumpcan make a smooth transition back to his former life and live in peace for many years. He made many positive contributions to our great country.. and it is my hope that we can move forward to a positive rewarding future.

Oregon, where your children will grow up to be liberal communist and antifa members.
I wish for once people would leave their political comments at the door and just talk about the videos and
whether you like the movie or not. I like reading reviews especially old stuff like this, and it saddens me that people think they must throw their politics into every facet of media including movie comments sections. I'm very close to powering down my phone permanently.
No blessings came to lost tribes but the bastards that followed Ephraim to the promise land. Sure got rich who mixed with Ishmael in ancient times and vowed to keep Isaac's people slaves forever.

Stopped watching as soon as I saw Sally Fields

Wagon Train to the stars………….. ;))
Thanks, YouTube, for this epic film with a cast of some of the best and well known actors of that day. I assume they were part of the thousands of settlers who traveled along the Oregon Trail that occurred in the mid 1880's. You can Google The Oregon Trail to learn much about the pioneers who made their way from Missouri to Oregon and how some settlers splintered off and went to other places, including California, Idaho and Wyoming.
If they only knew it would be for naught. Commie country.
At 1:24 36 I thought it was nice that he thought of his plants first.
People, this is how it was done. Those scenes of them traveling to their destination was harsh, brutal, physical and laboring. But the dream wouldn’t go away. They were going to get there no matter what.
Good Old Western movie. I like it
Douglas, Widmark and Mitchum were so great in this.

Sally Field sure was a little cutie back in the good ole days. She held on to that cuteness for a long time. I still laugh when I think she actually made a TV series called the Flying Nun. Wonder how long it would stay on the air today….about a minute maybe.
there was a road at the bottom of the gorge. i wished they could have looked for the descending route to it. but which way?
I hope they hurry up & make a movie about 2020.
Epic! They really don't make them like this anymore. Top rated at 5 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿.
Who's the heck is this chick in this ad? Gol dang she sure is pretty,
I love this movie!! Takes be back to the adventurous spirit of America!! I keep watching such movies to keep myself in that spirit! Because, you never know that the future will bring with the current way of this country…..so much hatred ..so much corruption…so much non-patriotic feelings…people even burn their own country's flag – shamelessly!! My heart is heavy with burden to see such things…at lease these movies keeps me hopeful that one day…America will rise up and be the beacon of the world again!!!
Where the Transgender people?
This is as close to real pioneers heading west in the movie you will ever see. These people at tenacity which you will not see in modern times
I got to see this movie when it was released, I think 67. Westerns were still a hot ticket. Lola Albright was really hot, Sally Field was really cute. These days she is still looking good!!

Great Movie!!!!
One of my favorite western movies I have seen it quite a few times.
When the wagon train leaves Independence and heads north to Nebraska, in the background you can see the little known Mo-Kan Mountain range, which have to be skirted before crossing the Kansas River.
