  1. Alot of these feel dated. We have everyone from 18 to 50 on apps now days so why would there be need for fakes as much, not saying there aren't fake accounts. Met my ex wife through a friend but me my last 5 gf through dating apps plus 2 fwb

  2. I decided to stop internet dating after trying pretty much every site and app since 1996. Pre-internet dating, I even did a personals ad (and was successful). I have had all sorts of results from internet dating. I used to be a traveling corporate trainer, so one year I went on about 100 dates, with only a few repeats. As the years progressed, a lot of the shine wore off. Towards the end, when I really felt disgusted and disillusioned, I would just get one-word messages from men saying what they would specifically like to do to me, or which fantasy they would like me to fulfill. (Side note: men in the snow states are obsessed with pantyhose and heels, I am guessing because they often see hikers or snow boots.) Eventually I simply felt as if I was shopping for men. Where is the fun in that? It becomes a chore, just like real grocery shopping. I have vowed to never do internet dating for the rest of my life (and I think I have another 50 years to go, so that's a really long time), but I need things to happen organically at this point. Wait – except for the background check. That is going to happen electronically.

  3. Dating Apps are problematic in a lot of ways, but they're not completely hopeless. But yeah, the gender ratio are huge hurdles in finding the right one.
As a man, you barely ever get a response from the women you're contacting, let alone an actual conversation. Even attractive dudes who put effort into their profiles struggle.
As a woman, you're so swamped by messages you don't even know where to start.
It's difficult for both parties, just in different ways.

  4. Mods screwing you out of your money by hiding behind hot profile pics and posing as escorts, only to take the money and run. Learned the hard way never to try to get laid over the internet and attempt to pay for shows/hookers.

  5. Dating apps are a last ditch effort for those who are desperate. Goes for both sexes. If you are a man and you have not found the "one" by 30, I'm sorry dude. But you better be ready to raise another guys kid or deal with jacking it. As for women, their standards are likely higher than what they bring to the table or are looking for sugar daddy.

If you are decent looking guy and not married by your 30s women ask questions. As for guys.. improve yourself. It will be long and arduous. But it's hope I guess.

  6. I knew one bombshell of a woman in the looks dept. She held off cause she wanted an nfl player bf/husband. Little did she realize that when she entered that league of dating, that a number of women would also look as good as she did, if not better. So eventually she settled with someone else after seeing all her friends getting married. Not uncommon for a woman to settle after she hits the 3-0.

  7. There was this guy I worked with. I didn't know him well, but I did talk to him everyday. It was rumored he was gay, or something because he didn't date. He was good looking, and he was realy nice. Once I fell behind on something, and I was going to get in trouble. He volenteered to help. I said, "No, I was good." , but he showed up after work with a pizza, and stayed until midnight. I asked him, "Don't you have someone at home?" he said, "Nope, I would've just watch TV alone, and gone to bed." Later, he told me the women at work put him on a dating app. They were surprised no one was interested in him. He said, "I wasn't surprised. I'm sort like a Casper the friend ghost. People either don't see me, or they run away scaried. The big exception was woman over thirty, and unmarried. Those women were scary. There were so intence, that he thought they had kidnapper wait out side to grab him."

  8. Years ago I was on a dating site and for the time span that I used it for I had a had quite a few conversations. One really pissed me off. I was talking to this one girl who had pretty bad profile pictures but I decided to give it a try and talk to her. When she found out my height, I am a little short but I don't care at all, she kept on insulting me cause of it and kept calling me tiny. I for one LOVE taller women. Actually I think I want to have primarily tall women as significant others, but sadly enough as a guy these days I guess we don't win. It just pissed me off that I was consistently being called tiny. Some people have no social skills. I ghosted her afterwards. Received a few texts from her before she got the hint.

  9. I got a question here:

with valentines day approaching, i am thinking of sending a rose to someone i have a crush on. (its a school program where you can buy roses to send to people). However, last year my best friend and my crush were together for a while and I dont know if they still are. What do I do so that I dont offend either of them or come off as creepy/weird? Even if they arent together anymore, and she likes me, what do I do once I am in a relationship? The last time I was in a relationship was 4 years ago with someone else and that was because both of us at the time were just as weird as the other.
