  1. This mod is so damn good! But I feel like it's a bit too early to compare it with Mario's Madness and especially because of that mod being bigger than this one. I love both though and I can't get enough of the how the legends and creepypastas are interpreted, they are done super well and I love the songs, Your Copy and Better Off rock!

  2. The fact that FNF: Classified has more passion on the first ever 3D Mario game (mainly creepypastas, old rumors, even TerminalMontage) than V.S. Sonic.EXE is shocking, and quite funny.

  3. So, let's go over the origins of half of the characters, as you only seem to know the Wario Apparition, Personalized Mario, and Gilbert.

    – Watery Grave is for L is Real, based on the jokey message left on the fountain in the courtyard of Peach's castle. This was presumed to read "L is Real 2401", which led people to speculate about Luigi being playable somehow. In 2020, it was due to leaks that a Luigi model was revealed in the files of the original Super Mario 64, proving that L was real after all, even if he never became playable until Super Mario 64 DS. This depiction of L is Real is a combination of his depiction in Super Mario 64: CLASSIFIED, a Mario 64 analog horror series by Greenio and the namesake for the mod, where Luigi dies from the player controlling him to end up drowning, and that of Beta Luigi from Luigi's Mansion, which is why this Luigi's eyes are shut, he looks depressed as shit, and he has that flower in the underwater portion.

    – Scuttlebug is for Speedrunner Mario from TerminalMontage, a YouTuber known for his over-the-top animated parodies of Nintendo games. Despite the flashing colors and explosion effects, this is not at all related to MLG, even if it does reference memes a lot. Speedrunner Mario is a Mario possessed by a demon that is based off of the Mario 64 speedrunning community, hence Speedrunner. This is why the Mario not only has the goofy mouth movements, but also the glitched out "yahoo!"s when he begins to spazz out; that represents the backwards longjump glitch that's used as the main method for getting up the Endless Stairs and for speedrunning the game. This is something that Speedrunner Mario does a LOT. Lastly, the song title, Scuttlebug, is in reference to the Scuttlebug enemy that is key to the infamous "But First, We Need to Talk About Parallel Universes" meme, another thing that Speedrunner Mario is based on.

    – Better Off is for M from SM64.z64, a short horror ROM hack of Mario 64. This is the only material I am not too familiar with, but from what I do know, M is the data entity that eventually appears after three runs of the same level in Bob-Omb Battlefield, telling the player to "leave." and will chase down Mario until it manages to catch him and kill him. This is why his song is called Better Off, as in "better off dead". The game itself changes up a bit with every playthrough of the level, getting more grim and weird until M shows up. This could be somewhat inaccurate, as I have not actually played or watched the hack itself.

  4. Fun Fact: the team behind classified actually use to work on MMNM, When Sesso was the director for MMNM he and other members thought that he wasn’t being a good director so he decided to split the team to MMNM and Classified (he gave the ownership to Inferno when he moved to Classified)
