  1. I think either lilyanne and marianne were at niwa at the same time or lilyanne is actually marianne. Because when Thomas went into Richards memory he saw Richard as a child with a mask even though Richard was still alive so now Iā€™m thinking marianne is actually discovering where she came from and speaking with her child/past self

  2. STORY SO FAR, in as chronological order as I can figure out:
-Richard's father leaves for the war (WWII or possibly a little earlier before the 'start'), leaves Richard his lucky knife
    -Richard's father dies
-Richard meets Rose, who is a Jewish girl being hidden by their neighbors. Because this means she likely also doesn't get a lot of food, Richard sneaks her food. they play and he draws her.
-Richard's mother remarries. step father is an abusive bastard, physically and emotionally, to both of them. Richard tries to fight back but feels helpless, making him prone to lashing out. The darkness begins to form.
-Richard snaps at Rose when she tries to help
-Richard's Stepfather tells the Nazis (or sympathizers) about Rose and the others their neighbors are hiding. Apparently he likely also took things from them, or he's done this enough times to have stolen valuables from those that were killed/taken
-Rose dies–I am not sure if this was from sickness or from the Nazis, she sounded like she could be sick too. Richard finds her and the darkness starts growing in him because he feels he cannot protect his mother or Rose and is useless
-Richard's mother has her husband taken by those against the Nazis and he's hung as a traitor for working with them. this may also fuel Richard's darkness–revenge and also bitterness that he couldn't do it himself.
    -???
-Richard grows up to be a painter and seems well adjusted. He starts doing well but feels lacking in inspiration.
-Richard meets Thomas some time in the late 50s to 60s, a young boy with the gift to see the other side. What Thomas describes to him gives him the inspiration he's been yearning for. He takes Thomas under his wing and tries to mentor him. Thomas follows along, but as he grows he decides to forge his own path as an architect.
–Thomas starts planning Niwa. Around then he also gets married.
-after hearing that Richard had lost his position at a univeristy, he offers him a place at Niwa as a teacher and aid.
-Richard comes, meets Ursula. She becomes smitten with him and he encourages it.
-He then meets Thomas' daughter, Lily. Lily reminds him of Rose and the darkness starts to feed on those memories and grow inside him. Rose was his first love and he sees her here again, young and sweet and innocent despite him being older now. This stirs the darkness more and more and…yeah. I'm not making excuses for this guy, I'm honestly with Thomas on this and I don't care for his reasons or his sad past. While it's not salacious, it's definitely an uncomfortable route to go down.
-Thomas finds out, looks for proof, finds the sketchbook with implied inappropriate sketches of Lily. Thomas' other half convinces him to confront Richard. Thomas sends his spiritual self into Richard, where he finds out about his past. He finds Richard's innermost self that was corrupted by the dark, his inner child, but instead of saving it it's implied he essentially rips it apart.
-This is then implied to leave Richard in a vegetative state, similar to a stroke or a siezure or what have you. There is an investigation but not much comes of it.
-Ursula, previously jilted by Richard, manages to place herself as his caretaker and her obsession grows.
–???couple of years pass? Francis released something/someone related to Lily, who is 16 now, that plunged them into darkness?
-The nurse, most succeptable to her darkness, is taken over by the demon (I'm just guessing but maybe she found something about what he did that set her off) and kills Richard in the wheelchair. Richard's dark spirit still lingers though, grown to a corrupted scale that shadows a good part of the resort. The nurse then starts killing others and the demon begins hopping from vessel to vessel to kill others, using their negative emotions as a gateway inside. Hence, the Niwa massacre.

From there, we still need to find out exactly what happened to Lily/Sadness, Thomas, and what Marianne's ties to it all are. My guess is maybe Lily had a kid from what Richard did (god I hope not though, that's so freakin dark) who is Marianne and the fire started the day of the massacre, when she was 3. But that doesn't quite explain Marianne's dream about being shot I think so not sure…Unless that was Lily and Francis shot her thinking that would stop what was happening? Other idea is that maybe Thomas and his wife did have another child and that's Marianne, or there was some witchery afoot and she's Lily, but Lily's memories remained in Niwa as Sadness.

  3. Yep. Itā€™s confirmed that your channel is officially the only one I want to watch anymore lol. I really think storyline games are your niche! You add such a great commentary to story games. This game is also super amazing so thank you for sharing it with us!

  4. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Richard? His situation with rose, his family, in no way accounts for or excuses what he did to Lily. I find the walk through his memories to be a calculated world of self-pity to hide a guilty conscience, or even to appear that way to Thomas to gain his sympathy.

I guess some people find it comforting to think that some ā€œdemonā€ or trauma can cause a person to abuse a child- because it shifts the blame and makes it impossible for a person to be callous and cruel enough to genuinely want to do those things- a horrific truth.

  5. didnā€™t they kill Rose (the girl that was in the hedges) cuz she was Jewish? there was a letter that said something about them hiding in the pantry under the floor and they go out at night to maybe look for food. there was also jewish symbols like the star

  6. I don't know if it was talked about before but watching this today I noticed how the Moth Monster guy walks on his tip-toes like a ballerina! I wonder if Vivienne the ballerina from last episode and him are tied to each other in some way.
