Over the past week or so, the League community has been surprised, confused and somewhat disturbed by a pick that’s taking over the meta: roaming Janna top with smite.

On paper, it looks like the fastest way to get yourself a ban for inting, but in high ELO – it’s proving to be really strong.

In fact, it’s now the highest win rate champion in its role and is exposing a massive flaw at the very heart of how League of Legends works…

  1. This is so hilarious and at the same time so unhealty for the game imo. Not for soloq, but for pro play. In soloq do whatever you want to do but in pro play this will become the ultimate strat and LoL will run into overwatch problem of the goats syndrome (for the uninitiated the goats meta was so fckng insane that there was only one way and one character you could pick for every role. and only one way to win the game anything other than goats were just bad compared to the goats ) Overwatch as a game couldn't fix this without breaking the game so I hope this doesn't happen to LoL. Another problem is the people who watch the pro play will try to imitate to level of success and make it more potent to abandon top lane at all. From what I understand only way to properly counter this is leaving the toplane alone so the bounty system will not trigger just by the playstyle. For people saying pick scaling picks, if the enemy has 2 enchanter or a 1 enchanter 1 engage sup with a hyper carry just a mage and a random jungler should be enough for the team with the enchanter to scale better than avarage opposition. The problem is the enchanter has cheap items and you have one more free lane to farm for your carries. I am afraid how this strat in pro play can even get more crazier if the teams coordinate proper lane assignments and movement.

I don't see anything wrong with this.. since it's players who found this working strat… it's upto their opponents to find the counter… Yes ofcourse if there doesn't exist a proper counter for this then maybe nerf this… But people just won't work hard to switch how they play… Instead they always want riot to switch the game so that it suits them

  3. People called me crazy and now me a gold support player got to diamond 2 just by playing Janna top and it gets banned now shits wild with this season of league right now.

  4. one thing i hate about league is how much people complains about creativity. if this is dota people will be amused by all the crazy things they see their enemies do and try to abuse themselves. dota has almost all the problems league has but being triggered by creativity is not one of them and i hope league players can be the same.

  5. People keep saying that they are happy for this change or whatever. They are ignoring the fact that its cancerous and shouldnt exist. Think about it you can just fuck off and let your lane opponent do whatever they please and still win, easily. How is that a good thing, you can just forgo any interaction with them because they need xp and gold while you dont. Plus it wouldn't even be possible if toplane actually mattered.

  6. What's more weird is it also kinda working on Wild Rift a mobile version of LoL. Building first Deadman's plate then Movespeed enchant boots to Roam lanes and disrupting enemy's jungler. Really it's so toxic I've been played against it twice thou it dies a lot of times it's give enemy teams bounties which could help your laners if they could kill it
