  1. I dont usually watch a lot of streams or gameplay videos that often but I regularly enjoy watching TGM. The way he comments on the game as it's happening and the way he plays the game (and the game itself) is really captivating, Like there's a nice watchable narrative in a lot of his recorded matches. That's how we end up with recurring "characters" like Charge Rifle Steve.

I enjoy TGM's narration immensely, It's like a naturalistic, modern "Freeman's Mind," in the sense that the commentary isn't obtrusive, it's just the running thoughts of the character (or in this case player) within the story. Though because TGM isn't playing a character, it's much more naturalistic in tone and delivery. It just makes for really genuinely fun to watch videos. With a lot of streamer videos for Apex are hard to stick with because there's often a ridiculous amount of commentary about statistics and things, techniques and responding to comments that it can be a bit overwhelming. I think aceu is pretty cool by the matches are almost "Speedrun" quality to how the game is played.

But with TGM, there's a nice sense of genuine fun. TGM really enjoys playing Apex and that's it, and it's so refreshing to see and vicariously feel.

  2. I started maining Rampart this season because of your content, managed to rack up more kills this season alone with just her than any other legend in any other season! I enjoy playing her so much, and so many people don't know how to react to her. Thanks for all the tips Merchant!

  3. i main revenant, i love silencing people’s abilities during fights there’s nothing better than seeing a helpless wraith trying to escape without her phase or a valkyrie trying to fly away. I love his ultimate, I’m a very aggressive player so I push everything having that second life comes in handy when I’m getting 1v3’d.

  4. I always loves Rampart, even though at first I tried to like her even though she's quite weak or either hard to use before the mobile turret update (Even the turret was fun back then, but I can always see how weak vulnerable she is)

But now, I can finally be the Heavy weapon Gal I always wanted her to be with the new rework

  5. I've mained Ash as she suits me well, I love knowledge and deathboxes on the map let me know where to go or not to go. Also gives me info to find an armor swap of need be. Her tac is amazing paired up with a spray and and arc or if you snare a cover you need to get round to pop a heal. Her ultimate I love and hate… sometimes it just doesn't go where I want it to, but other times works as such a FAST ADVANTAGE.

So yeah thats why I play and main Ash and happy to have over 1k kills with her also 😁

  6. I recently started playing the game again and I decided to try the Arena mode since I’ve never played it. I accidentally chose Rampart as my legend and im glad i made that mistake. She’s super fun and way different than Path. My only gripe is that you can one shot her barricades before they fully form.

  7. Well to answer your final inquiry there.

    I main Wattson
    mostly because she's adorable. Lol.

But also the passive shield heal is pretty relevant in more situations than people realize,
And i like the gameplay that arises from being very aware of my oppositions locations without giving away mine.

Walling off a path leads my opponents to 3 options.
Triggering the wall, destroying the wall, or going around it.

In all situations i get to know which option they took,
And get to manage the locations of several individuals simaltaneously.

And pick and choose my engagements within a fight significantly more favorably.

Combine that with my tendency to efficiently ghost people,
And i get to play a predator stealth game.
    Stalking teams.
    Stealing their kills,
Killing them when they're most vulnerable.

    Which i have fun doing.

Is it the most effective way to play? Absolutely not.

Does it net wins? Uh… Occasionally, but not reliably. More often than you'd think, but less often than when i used to just like… Land and kill everyone.

But it's far more fun than the default method of play for me.
And i couldn't see myself play any other character without feeling like my toolkit is missing tools lol

  8. I am at about 7k kills with rampart and while I feel other legends are much better, I just love the character and her kit. I love pulling off a successful defense with her walls and Sheila comes in clutch when you're outnumbered or get a nasty flank. Like you said, when I play other characters, I just feel like I am missing out.
