Sunfire Aegis is such a good item for Mordekaiser because it synergies well with his passive! Most players build Rift Maker as a first item because that is his meta and popular Mythic item but I tell you Sunfire Aegis is so strong with him as you can’t lose a trade with that item even your enemies will be surprised how much of their HP has gone with just a simple trade! Sheer tankiness is better than omnivamp because Mordekaiser already have natural damage early level thanks to his passive and combined that with Sunfire’s passive you can 1v5 even at early level.
Rift Maker only offers you omnivamp and HP while Sunfire Aegis offers you HP, Armor, Magic Resist and the passive burn damage that stacks! So it’s a free damage per second and combined that with your passive ” Darkness Rise 🔥 “

-Sunfire Aegis
-Plated Steelcaps
-Demonic Embrace
-Zhonya’s Hourglass
-Rylai
-Visage

This video is old ik but my fav build on morde rn is rift, nashors, spirit visage, thornmail, ravenous, with swiftness boots.
Heyyyyy I played a build like this before the item rework. I’d build Sunfire and Liandry’s to start, usually Rylai’s next, then Abyssal Mask for the 15% increased magic damage, and whatever item I wanted last. Usually some form of ap like nashor’s since the build already makes you pretty tanky, but something like gargoyle’s just makes you unkillable. I’d burn baron for like 6k hp just by standing near it and accidentally melt tanks while going for the backline. People always pinged my sunfire cape like mad until we got into fights.
They don’t heal all that much so why not go dead man’s to catch kai’sa, veigar, wukong, or just get back into fights after ali bumps you away? Or randuin’s if you wanna target negate kai’sa damage. Unless she built rageblade I didn’t check but it’d still be useful anyway with its slow and cracked base stats. Or if you don’t wanna rely on your team as much maybe a gargoyle’s? Am I dummy dumb or is thornmail not that great here. Not great at league so this is a genuine question
Edit: she in fact has no rageblade, so Randuin’s probably would’ve fucked her over super hard
