One of the greatest remakes of all-time, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 from Vicarious Visions has received a new (paid for) patch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. There are graphics upgrades, along with fidelity and performance modes. In this video, Alex Battaglia and John Linneman take you through the various new features but let’s put it this way – it’s 120fps action that’s the game-changer for this one.

  1. I just saw that if you bought the game upon its release, you have to buy it again for this upgrade 🤦‍♂️…Why do you simps keep buying these consoles?? I mean at least PlayStation still has some semblance of exclusivity, but still

  2. Digital foundry:

New games with tons of stuff to discuss: meh

Old games with patches that make two or three obvious changes (some of which cant even be shown on YouTube): hell yeah.

This channel was awesome, but has been so lazy this year

  3. I only want a PS5 to experience Tsushima in 60 FPS now hearing again that the PS5 (with it's current firmware at least) is not even able to make use of 1440p at 120 hz is such a shame.

  4. My best friend had this back in the day on the sega dreamcast. I'd sit and watch in awe as he would rack up millions of points. I remember thinking he had to be one of the best in the world at that particular game. He unfortunately died soon after , rip

  5. Shouldn’t those reporting on games understand the medium beforehand? You couldn’t find an upgrade for TH on Xbox because you can’t. You have to either own the digital deluxe or buy the game again. Only PS offered the upgrade option.

  6. I never use black frame insertion because it dims the image so much. So, it sounds like with a high enough refresh rate, the image doesn't dim as much? I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the video!

  7. Of course John needs to throw his Sony flag on every Sony advantage. Today Sony slightly better on 4k screens but if it was xbox series x. He would say resolution is irrelevant and you cannot tell the difference

  8. 19:30 Why is there a single bar on top of a side-by-side comparison? ^^
For real though: you mention multiple times that frame drops occur whenever the vhs rewind animation plays. But the graph seems to indicate that the drop happens whenever you bail, a second or two before the animation plays, for example at 17:19.

  9. My version of the game on Series X with the next-gen upgrade still wasn't working as of last night, have to check it out now. Was super disappointing to not be able to play the game though from the next-gen launch

  10. The only Thing i hate, is, that we start to study Video Settings more and more frequently. I really dont want an Doctor in TVing… Really… I just want to have an HDR 4KTV. But just know ppl out there… this would be Way to less. You need at least the correct Brightness too. And as it seems Color and other Options enabled too. Really stupid.

Just know… Just because an TV CAN take and Display HDR DOES NOT mean its better then a 1080P Display. Its not. It is disgustingly misleading advertising from (all) TV Producers.

  11. I've been playing the PS4 version on my PS5 and the faster loading times seem to be pretty equivalent to the native. Guess they already had that in the bag.

I have the Next gen version ready to go, but I'm stuck playing the PS4 version on my PS5 because I have 2 trophies left to get and they kinda grindy.
