I'm a child of the 70s who grew up playing sinclair spectrum games (& atari 2600) had a Mighty Master System as I live in the UK 🇬🇧 later owned an Amiga A500 along with the mega drive and snes.
I would have to put dessert strike in my top ten of mega drive/genesis games.
As for Streets of rage two, I recently picked up the Streets of Rage 2 Street Fighter Edition which I actually prefer to the original, such a fun game.

Dungeons and Dragons Warriors of the eternal sun. That game was old school dnd goodness with tons of hidden areas to find.
I can name 200 games on Genesis that would push X-men to 201st place on this list.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles! I know, it's technically 2 cartridges, but it's my favorite game. Period. On anything. What john said about sonic 2 I agree with 100%, for me though, Sonic 3 & Knuckles does that again, great levels, good use of new characters, great music, fun special stages. All good.
Honorable mention (for me anyways) Toejam & Earl. Solely on these two reasons: it's music and it's sense of humor.
Had everyone of these games except moonwalker, and I totally agree on your list except I would have had ghouls and ghosts on there

Sonic 2 for me is the height of Sonic. Not Sonic 3 or Sonic and Knuckles but just Sonic 2. Also I haven't played Sonic Mania, but that might be a decent game too.
Some others I like, Aladdin, the Earth Worm Jim games and Quack Shack

I think Light Crusader is maybe the best Genesis game I've ever played. I found that game pretty much perfect, except it's a little short. Personally I've never understood the love for Sonic the Hedgehog games…

tails actually makes it really hard to collect all 7 chaos emeralds because he keeps on getting hit on the bonus levels. i hate tails…

I still have my original copy of X-Men for Gen. I'm not even kidding but there was more than one (probably three to five) playthrough where I got to the end of Mojo World and couldn't figure out what to do. Only after accidentally hitting reset did it finally continue. Definitely blew my nine year old mind.
