Next to your defence you can dig so enemies can't reach your defences and base

The trolls will not only hit you on the wall but also destroy it with a couple swings.
u have to stay insdie the red zone and its time lined so if you dont kill the invaders the just run off if you dont kill them. if you have a decent defense system you dont have to do a thing they just die or when the time runs out they disappear.
Which is why I found a tiny outcropping of land in the middle of the ocean and built a castle. Peace and quiet; I still get random attacks when I'm at other camps but my central base is a nice safe home.
Using Trolls to mine your copper is the best way to troll a Troll. Bring them down to one hit of health and just kite them around a copper deposit. They do all the work for you.
build a ward, so its easier to notice when your base is being attacked. it makes sounds when your stuff is being hit in the range. Also you can stack the stakewalls on top of eachother
just so you know if you build like a moat around your base the trolls can't cross it since none of the monsters to what I've seen can't jump except for the flyers of course however the trolls and other land based monsters don't have the ability to jump so building a moat say 10 meters out from your base should in theory keep your main base or sub bases safe that's what I do with all my bases I build a moat around them to keep them from being destroyed mean its an option rather then building defensive walls but again its up to you Kage
17:00 It’s a lot easier to time your attacks while blocking multiple enemies if you manage to parry the first heavy attack. Being staggered delays their next attacks long enough for a few more enemies to get their swings in, giving you a chance to get an attack in before they all fully recover. Also, you lose less stamina to excessive blocking if you move sideways in addition to backing away, circling around. The enemies get more confused and hung up on each other, and some of their attacks are more likely to miss compared to only being farther away but still straight in front of them. And one last thing: Don’t forget about the sharp stakes you can build a little ways in front of your walls to damage enemies (if they’re too close to the walls, trolls won’t get close enough to take damage)!
I have a "oh shit" box filled with arrows and pots and essentials for when the surprise attacks happen. Run up and hit the take all button.

Hey kage good video Valheim is amazing. Tip for the trolls and to get stuff take them into the woods. As they swing they will hit the trees so saves time cutting trees down. Hate mining copper kite one to a copper node and get him to take it out. Great video

Stop wasting fire arrows on Trolls. Make some better arrows.
Why the hell are you putting a weak base on all your walls? That's just idiotic.
If a troll attacks, you don't need to stand on the walls, they are like 40 feet tall. you can stand in the middle of your base and shoot them.
Fire arrows take too long, use flint or any with high piercing.

What day did the trolls come? I just had the greyling family of enemy's raid my base for the first time on day 36.

forget stonewalls. terraform cliffs(by either digging a trench or elevate the ground. incorporate terraforming and verticality. it breaks AI
Once you have bronze, you can just parry/block/melee the trolls, easy.
Okay I'm glad I watched this episode I've got some serious fortification upgrades to make damn trolls lol
19:30 spotted the secret dig area where you find a chest?
You have to stay in the red zone on the mini map for them to stop.
The Biome progression is Meadows/Black forest/Swamp/Mountain/plains
I would lead them to trees.. They pathing is not great they tend to go around fallen log.. Also they will chop trees for me free.
You should charge the bow all the way, your missing out on a lot of damage
Wood walls, hmm……… Nah, the best defense is to just raise "walls of earth", huge walls. But this costs a ton of stone. And stone is not that abundant as wood. :/
But that is the best, imo. And surrounded with a deep canal of water, lake castles… lol
I'm very disappointed. You didn't defense the base! What's the point of having a base if you don't defend it?
