  1. My rule of thumb is if you're a champion that weaves in autos between abilities, keep it on. Otherwise, turn it off.

Then again, it's honestly not a big deal. You can climb and you can improve without knowing you can turn off auto attacks in the first place. I played since s4 and never knew until s9. Don't sweat it on whether you want to a click as much as possible for the apm or you just want to click and then think about everything else.

  2. Just turn it off. The very few situations in which this is useful don't outweigh the potential downsides of keeping it on unless you completely adapt to using it. The ONLY role it has even an argument to be made to keep it on is support and that's such a niche thing that only really matters if you're failing to contest vision and or don't blatantly watch them ward the bush which happens more often then not. This does not outweigh multiple times per game in which you may accidentally auto attack the wave which contrary to what silver players may tell you CAN and WILL fuck up wave management. Having to keep track of not doing this is just more information for you to process that could be used on things like warding positions, roams, potential dives, etc.

TL;DR: The absolutely tiny micro advantage you get is not worth the potential trouble it could cause.

  3. you failed to mention the best part of having auto attack on in jng it makes you auto target the next raptor or new spawning krugs in case you have your camera on different lanes watching for action or possible ganks/counter ganks

  4. completely disagree with Auto attacks always on as a support. If the bush is warded you are standing on in lane, the minions will simply attack you. No need to mess up a wave and have the adc groan at you for messing up their cs by accidently killing a minion. And as a support, you should be paying attention to wards being placed as is in lane. So your jng isnt standing there like a derp waiting to gank, meanwhile enemy knows it and are just wasting his time.

  5. personally i use the stop button and leave aa on cause if im adc and a enemy walk to me and i mby look at another lane that one aa can be substantial to turn that fight so ive gotten used to use s "my stop button" and leave aa on

  6. I've gotten so used to having auto attack on that I don't have a problem with accidental AAs anymore. A lot of moving and pressing S. My friends do though.
It can sometimes help with following up on combos. But I did not know anything about checking warded brush. Mind blowing!

  7. i don't get the point of the comment he mentioned. if the bush is warded you can tell by the minions trying to hit you anyways. also if the enemy knows that you're in there they won't just come in aa range to let you know it's warded.

imo having this option on is only justified when playing jgl otherwise it's gonna mess with your wave and teamfight focus sometimes :/

  8. I'm really REALLY unsure of the value of auto attack for any role except jungle, including jungle to some degree. A lot of the game should be spent moving your camera to different lanes to gather information and thinking about how to play the current situation in your lane. I can easily accept that someone can learn to control their autos with auto attack on making it not necessarily a disadvantage laning-wise, but at the same time, I also think you're creating useless inputs with no practical upside, and I think said useless inputs are probably limiting the amount of time you have to look around the map actively. While jungle does gain some freedom while doing raptors/krugs, jungle already has by far the largest amount of time to gather information by looking at lanes, so I'm not sure any value is created there

TLDR: I think aa on forces you to make useless inputs to control your character, and that time could be better spent looking at another lane to gather information.

  9. It definetely should be on, beacuse there are some tricks like, when you use "darius e" on a champ, you dont have to click them, dairus will hit the enemy even if you do not click on them, and after that you can use your w. Useful when the target is inside a lot of minions and you are not so good with "attack champions only". Or with irelia, when you q to an enemy champion, you can move your cursor somewhere else in mid air and you will still auto attack the enemy, so you are faster with your q. Im sure there are more things like this,so keep it on and use the s button more

  10. Or you can hit your S key if you want to stop attacking. Fun fact it will cancel the animation if you hit it during wind up and your auto attack will not complete. Don't be lazy. Use a stop command. Default is S. You can change it to a mouse button if you have extras.
