  1. Sorry for not always looking into the camera. Definitely need to get myself one of those phone teleprompters. Oh, and there is obviously a ton of other filming stuff to improve on. You don't really realize how much you can do wrong until you do it yourself.

  2. Honestly, I don't think the improved latency is going to help unless you can see it due to a fast enough frame rate to make it noticeable, which is probably why the Xbox controller has its limits. If you can't see the affects of the faster polling rate in the game (because it only draws 120 frames per second), then how are you going to notice it? So I'd think that anything at or faster than 7.8ms is quick enough. Regardless, interesting technically video and thanks for creating it!.

  3. Great analysis! Though I wish you would have touched upon the backside buttons of each controller. I found the Elite2's to be very inconsistent. To the point of caving and upgrading to an eSwap, even though it worked fine otherwise
Edit: I ordered it a month ago or I would have used your affiliate link 🙁 <3

  4. My elite controller's bumper broke. On the first version and the second. No bumper problems for normal xbox controllers. Now my Xbox elite 2 controller won't even charge. Stay away from elite controllers. Whoever is in charge of that thing at Microsoft obviously doesn't care about quality.

  5. Great indepth video, I can tell this took a lot of work.

Also, 27:28, the grip on the dualsense is made of tiny circles, squares, triangles and X's, pretty cool minor detail.

  6. No, the sticks on elite 2 ARE ALL bad. I’m on my 4th one (had 3 elites since their release as well). All begin to experience major drift, uncentering, and over shooting center.
It’s terrible but it’s the best feeling controller for me because I use paddles for RL. (Get a warranty and you’ll never have to buy another one though 🤷🏼‍♂️).

  7. King shit, amazing video!
I'd like to add that you can buy an official 'back button attachment' for the DS4 controller from Sony (at least while stock still exists). This adds 2 re-programmable paddles to the back. If you really want those back buttons then imo it makes the DS4 the obvious choice overall. I hope Sony releases something similar for the Dual Sense.

  8. I have an elite series 2. I am around GC2 in 3s and 1s (dropped out of both a couple days ago). I run through a controller roughly every 4-6 months (on my third now I think, used them since the day they came out) compared to 2-3 months for a Series S controller. I have big hands (Just over 8in or 20cm from wrist to tip of middle finger) and the only other controller on the list that I'd consider is the Thrustmaster one. The price for the elite is rough, but, in the US at least, you can take advantage of warranties since they always develop an issue before it runs out. I paid $50 extra on the initial purchase and $50 each time I've gotten a new one, so with 3 I'm sitting around $330 compared to $540 if I hadn't had it. The swappable sticks are nice but on my controllers, the sticks aren't always what fail first, sometimes it's the bumper or a button. If I could get a similar warranty on the Thrustmaster model that covered buttons wearing out then I think I'd make the swap at some point, but I'm not sure if something like that is available
