VALHEIM 1 Month Later

It has been just over a month since the release of the viking, open world epic. Valheim. A tiny development team managed to bring us one of the biggest games of all time pushing the historical genre into the mainsteam.
But how has it changed over the last month? Whats next for the future of Valheim 1 Month Later.

  1. A shame they said they won't have official support for modders. Though the game is genuinely spectacular. I'm looking forward to these updates like nothing else, and hope everyone is still enjoying it as much as I am ❤🔥

  2. This game brought out the worst in people I played with. People hoarding resources, not sharing, logging off to put stuff on their private server, stealing shit from chests.

  3. my issue is that we have killed 4 of the 5 bosses, built and crafted that can been crafted, and im worried i might just stop playing after killing the 5th boss as there wont be much left to do..

  4. If they don't speed up development on more frequent small updates, player counts will drop

my group beat all bosses, got max gear, and made a few castles and we're all basically not playing now

  5. Never played this game coop, but the solo experience is solid for me…
I take my time to enjoy it, 2-4 hours a day… Its really enjoyable… So much things to do when solo which makes it more interesting…
But yes, i hope they would add more contents and variety of dungeons, add mini boss in it or something might make it more fun…

  6. Our best hope for further content and support, is if Microsoft swallows them up and buys it. The fact that the massive influx of cash and success hasn't perked their interest as developers, to hire on more people and add in tons of more features they probably couldn't implement before, makes me think they're pretty much done with the game and working on polishing the other content that isn't public yet.

Unless a bigger company buys them, this won't get supported like Minecraft. They were handed the opportunity to use this success to catapult an entire game franchise, and they don't seem to care, or are too stupid and too happy and content with just the initial sales.

It's a shame, hopefully they change their tune.

  7. I feel like it has a 50/50 shot of being a fad game or being a cult classic.

It could very easily go both ways, however I would prefer the latter, of course, with it being on the same levers with other notorious/famous titles.

  8. i hope iron gate doesnt sell out like Minecraft did. I hope iron gate has full control over their IP for the next 5-10 years. What they have is honestly awesome. It could even be updated with NPCs and be a full blown viking RPG.

  9. Valheim definitely has staying power, there is something special about it. I won't be surprised if it is still going strong and getting updates a decade from now similar to Minecraft today as long as they support mods.

  10. I'm 120 hrs in and just killed bonemass, I've been finding myself exploring all of the building aspects of Valheim creating a huge complex. I've not been this immersed in a game since back in WOTLK days in WoW.

  11. 160 hours and I've only beat 2 bosses, I'm expecting tripling or quadrupling this time by the end. I just play it as a life simulator, without feeling the need to power through the bosses. I've spent 20+ hours alone on just farming.
