Valheim – 15 Things It Needs To Be The Biggest Survival Game of 2021

Valheim has been out in early access for a few weeks now, but already, it’s shaping up to be an excellent game. The masses have been taken with it like very few other games have managed out the gate in recent years, and the hope is that developer Iron Gate will build on this excellent foundation to consistently deliver more compelling content for people to engage with.

Valheim is going to remain in early access for a while, and hopefully, we’ll see many significant improvements and additions being made to the game in this period, and in this feature, we’ll be talking about some of the most crucial ones we’re hoping to see that we think will potentially turn this into one of the best survival games out there.

  1. 1. dungeon with floor system
    2. trader sell backpack to increase slot
    3. create i.e iron mace > teleport > deconstruct > get iron, there you go
    4. save stranded viking, be their leader, command them to do stuff like hunting, mining, logging, farming, etc etc

  2. It already is the biggest survival game of 2021 and nothing will beat it, IMO also the best of the past years.
Also, most of this list is a joke…
More endgame stuff will be of course added in time, they have a roadmap for that.
Encumbrance, slots, first-person mode, trashing items, etc can all be added by mods already for those who want it.
Trouble sailing with bad wind? You can take the Moder power to always have favorable wind, also this is feature doesn't annoy anyone except you guys it seems.
The only thing I can agree with is the mounts and maybe some cosmetics but that can all come in time, its definitely not a top priority and necessary for the game.

  3. I just want them to add the arrows in my inventory to the bow on the UI, I want to know how many arrows I have without hitting Tab. Beyond that this game could go cross platform and just kill it across the console market.

  4. I think there should be an optional build mode when enemies aren't around. NPCs could be crew members on your ship or guard your town. Maybe have a quest to build a town for other people to earn there way into Valhalla. Build different types of buildings; taverns, mead halls, resident houses, stables, etc. Other payers could visit you NPCs or you theirs. Compare towns and maps.

  5. Not sure on the NPC companions. Valheim, according to the steam description, is a purgatory. I wouldn't expect a lot of "dead" waiting to go to Valhalla. However may be there would be 🙂

  6. #13 Alternate sailing methods – they already have an ability for that from one of the bosses. So technically its a thing already. But yeah i wish you could just row your damn boat also.

  7. Needs 2 fix all crafting! What i mean is if i have it somewhere in my overall inventory, i should be able 2 craft/forge ALL without having to run and hold each item IN HAND!!Like Grim dawn.Sick of having to run back n forth to shlep stuff over n over.

  8. Certainly based on the actual story of the game, NPC villagers is just flat out wrong. I can argue that recruitable NPCs are also out of game lore, though it can also be argued they are in. The game doesn't take place on earth.

  9. First game I have ever said this about, but I think Valheim could use a cosmetic item shop at some point. So many triple A games release at full price and broken. Already spent so much time playing Valheim that I would gladly purchase cosmetics to supports these devs.
