Valheim Gameplay – Trolls Use Trees As Weapons! | Black Forest Exploration (#6)

Today’s Valheim gameplay video sees me venture into the Black Forest for a day full of exploration in the new zone. A gigantic troll appears a few short moments into today’s video and chases me through the woods. As I turn and run, it knocks over a tree and proceeds to use it as a club to chase me around.

Luckily, I made some fresh fire arrows and was able to kill the Valheim troll down when it seemed to glitch out against a few trees. Gotta love Early Access!

So far, I’m loving Valheim and the ways to explore and craft your life in this Norse-inspired world. I’ve just recently defeated the game’s first boss and started dipping my toes into the Black Forest, the second zone to explore in the game.

I’m also loving the crafting mechanics of Valheim and how to build a house with the game’s systems. My little hay hut is coming along nicely if I may say so myself!

  1. Absolutely love this game, glad to see you're playing it!

Just a few tips I've learned from playing, maybe they'll help 😀
That arrow on your mini map shows the direction of the wind and be wary when hunting cause if your prey is down wind they'll smell you and likely dash.
Attacking from stealth will do extra damage, usually there's a multiplier on the weapon description for backstab bonus that applies.
There's randomly generated dungeons in the Black Forest that'll help give you supplies needed to progress in the tech tree.
Highly suggest keeping on top of your hunger so your stamina and health pools stay large.
Also there's a fair amount of grinding to be done for materials of you haven't already figured that out :b
As for the ocean, don't try sailing it with the T1 raft, that'll end in disaster unless you're a better player than me, which is probably so.

Hope these measly tips will help in some capacity, looking forward to more content from this series!
