Valheim – How to build a Viking House – Log Cabin (Building Guide)

Welcome to my cosy Log Cabin with a Fireplace.
This is a full How to Build Tutorial for a Log Cabin in Valheim.
I was up in the mountains looking for Dragon eggs and came across a ruined log cabin.
I had thought about stacking the log beams to make one and found that they were already in the game.
It looked really good, so I thought I would design something a bit different from Stone and Wood.

I also wanted to put a stone fireplace in the build, I tried a few designs but the smoke would pool beneath the chimney and put the fires out.
I had to build the chimney as wide as the Hearth to get rid of the smoke.
I place Stone floors on Arches to build a Lintel for the Fireplace and it turned out pretty good.

So this is my Log Cabin Building Guide, I called it How to build a Viking House because it seems to be searched for quite a bit 🙂

  1. Thank you for another video!

I think I might take a look into this build and the circular blacksmith hut for the friend server that I am playing on. Hopefully it'll give me more of an idea for how I want to do the viking village in my own world.

I am looking forward to the Turf House build!

  2. Your builds really "immersified"(Does that make sense? Lol.) my world! I repeatedly felt distaste when looking at the builds I was coming up with, and the demanding building system of Valheim often made it hard to get creative. I'm so glad to have found your channel, because it taught me a lot about viking-esque buildings and I think that sort of style is the only fitting choice for a game like this! Good job, man!

  3. As ever awesome build I could live here 😍 that fire is amazing, I'm so glad you do these videos. Also the docks, I could label all the things and reasons to love this build including the stack log walls. Just Amazing

  4. You sir, are my favorite Valheim builder. My wife and I already built your “meadery” and I’m definitely going to tackle this log cabin project tonight in the mountains near a certain boss.

The dimensions are absolutely my favorite parts as they’re thoughtful and helpful; well done!

  5. Absolutely love that you preframe the building. I'm still mastering that (I've always had trouble seeing bare bones of a house and picturing look at completion).

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a video(s) on hatching: using corners & why 26 vs 45 degree etc.

  6. I built a stone fireplace putting small 1 high slits in the back at the height of the fire, using a 1×1 centered on a 2×1 and then two more offset 1x1s merged into their neighbors (think the small slit windows in the Black Forest stone towers). This seemed to allow enough air for the fire to keep going.

  8. I still don't understand how you sir don't have more subs you should have over 1 mil subs. All you vids are always amazing and easy to follow so everyone can make amazing builds like this in their own games. Really appreciate the time and effort you put into your vids it shows you value the art and hard work you put into each video. I've followed you for over 2 years now and I would like to say thank you ive built over 100 of your buildings from ark and now in valheim thanks for making the villages I make look amazing 😁 my hats off to you good sir.

  9. I figured this would be how a log cabin would need to be built, just haven't had the opportunity to try to build one yet. It's all about "location", and I haven't found the "ideal place", but still looking.

  10. Ok, I'm very curious, do you come up with a build idea and then just build it, adjusting as you go, or do you plan and draw these out? Either way, incredible work!
Btw, sorry if this has already been asked
