Valheim – How to build a Viking House – Viking Blacksmiths Building Guide

This is a full How to build Tutorial for a Viking House in Valheim.
I have built a Blacksmiths that would also make a good Starter Base.

This build has four sections, I built the main living room with a bed and storage.
The entrance houses a workbench with upgrades and most of the storage.
At the side of the main room, I built the Blacksmiths workshop and the upgrade stations with two smelters and a charcoal kiln.

I wanted this base to look like something you would find in a Viking Village, but still make it efficient and easy to use as you play the game.

I know the open sections are vulnerable but I plan to stay here a while and build a castle with stone walls and a whole village.

I noticed a few requests in the comments for a blacksmiths house, a boathouse with a dock and some stone building so I will work in that order.

This is a How to Build Tutorial for Valheim.

  1. If you don't mind, I hope you will do some building/design tips that helps create the theme of a Viking build (or whatever theme you desire, really) so one can branch off and do their own thing while sticking true to the theme.

  2. how about you put a material list in the beginning of the video? I think that would be a good idea to get an overview of the project. also by making the list, think about optional items and necessary items. great video 😀

  4. Hey Pilgrim. Luv Your vids. The long house one is very impressive ! Just wanted to point, just if You missed minor thing, when setting up high structures. If You noticed, any wooden block that touches ground, or rock block is blue, that means it is "foundation" block. More "blocks" is between foundation one, and last, the less stability last one will have. So basically best would be construct as simple "frames" as You can. Nothing that would IRL work as support beam etc works in Valheim, unless it have best connection to the ground. : )

  5. I love getting some inspiration for my builds, and you're someone I end up going back to. I prefer the use of the dragon ornament a lot more toned down though, but that might just be me
