You should do a video on how to explore the plains biome safety
If you get in the water after chasing a leech away, they will come back to you. Easy to finish them off with a single melee strike before they hit you, if you've got them down to 1/3 health.
You can jump on-top of crypt and place work bench + chest and portal . This gives you safety of not being caught outside at night in swamp which is dangerous.
Also bring a Hoe to flatten land and get rid of water so leeches don’t get you.
You can dig out fire 🔥 area so the mobs that spawn blow up
Me and the wife have been playing for 30 hours, we've finally found a swamp biome, we have both got level 3 bronze armour and weapons + all the best food for our level and the swamp is still a challenge! so be carful! we haven't died yet but playing this SOLO would be insane!

I disagree on how to handle the slimes. They resist piercing attacks, but are VERY weak to blunt damage. So just kite them till they jump, then as they land, go for the kill with a mace. It'll take you no more then two hits. Even the bigger oozes that spawn slimes on death. Those newer slimes will not spread poison the moment they spawn. Time it right and you'll never get poisoned.
I was using fire arrows in the swamp… not sure that info is 100%

Either be wearing iron or silver. You will be fine as long as you know how to parry
I got a very small swamp in my starter island
You can find draugr villages outside of the swamp.
A key tip is getting sneak attack bonus with bow. If you upgraded your bow and have decent skill you can one shot some enemies from distance before they know you're there.
Their friends will only become alarmed if they are very close by when the arrow hits.
I got one next to a meadow's, but the kicker is the deer lead drauger from the swamp, too my camp… Or near it

My group and I felt it would be good to land near a bonemass spawn point within the swamp. Stormed the beach Normandy style in front of a crypt, surrounded by 2 body pile locations. Had to establish a foothold to build a portal. Lost a lot of good men out there, but the longship on the shore proved to be invaluable. Also, if you have a hoe, you can box out the leeches to keep them at a distance. Great fun. Love this game.
If you hit one of the jackpot seeds, you dont need to sail for swamps. I set up base in meadows on the main island (approx 3 min run from spawn). infront of me is ocean, 30 Seconds run to my right of base is swamp, 30 seconds run left of me is black forrest. Behind me (spawn direction) is also black forest, about a minute from trader.
Be careful not to set up your base in the plains (under armor50-60) like i did… the plains shore looks very similar to meadows….
Bronze-armor is a waste of resouces and time.
Look for turnip seeds in the swamp asap and start growing turnip,it takes a few days until you made enough seeds,but the turnip stew is worth it
Sausage,Turnip stew and carrot soup are three foods you want have in your backpack while running through the swamp
make potions asap (stamina,health and anti-poison) the anti-poison buff last 10 min,when active the poisoning of the leeches and blobs are nearly harmless
take material for a campfire with you and set one up inside the crypt at the exit
Don´t waste a slot for an torch if you carry firearrows with you,fire arrows are very good for enlighten the crypt and also for make some light farther away
that is all i have to say about the swamp 🙂
(maybe one more… the way to get ironscrap is painful and pleases me not xD )
Protip: bring a LOT of stone. (you should have a ton stocked up from mining copper in the Black Forest).
Use the stone to create land-bridges with your hoe and avoid the water entirely. Nothing worse that getting caught swimming when a few leeches decide to show up and a draugr with a bow is taking pot-shots. It's a bit more slow-going, but a lot safer.
