My way is build some buildings near boss spawn,and keep a long distance until it start attack buildings,then I spam arrows :p
if i summoned him once, but wasn't able to defeat him will i have to gather ancient seeds again to summon him or will he still be there?
Digged myself under the platform. There was water but i could still use my weapons. The Ent was also able to hit me with hit stomps tho, even when under the platform. He also managed to spawn those roots in my trench entrance. Fight took ages for me as I needed to regen HP when he managed to hit me through the platform without warning. Bowing and dodging was the solution in the end. Beware
I found an evil way to kill him. Get on top of one of those towers. Pelt it with arrows without getting hit. Might be just the way i was hidden behind the round bit at the top but I didn't get hit once.
actually its way easier to just run from pole to pole not digging this stupid hole imo 🙂 you can get trapped down there with a root so just ru nfrom pole to pole and hit him with fire arrows.
Make sure you clear out all the spawners near the boss site they will jump you while you are trying to kill the elder
Head off into the forest a bit and The Elder will do quite a bit of wood chopping for you, as long as you're comfortable dodging flying trees. Like Kysen implied, the gopher cheese is not at all necessary, and will just draw out an already long fight.
Is there a reason why so many people use bows for everything? A decent shield and a weapon kills things far faster and with less danger (counter then critical hit while stunned)
May not be that good for bosses, but things like the brutes or even trolls are easy and quick with a shield.
I quickly wanna point out that it is not all runestones that unlock the location of the boss and most YouTube guides actually show the wrong type. You have to find the ones called Vegvisir runestones which means way pointer in old norse/icelandic. They are most common in burial grounds but I also found one near a ruined tower. Just want to correct this cause a lot of youtubers have made this mistake with their guides.
The best way to beat it is to litteraly stand on one of the pillars. It cant attack you.
When he spawn sneak behind and use knife, you will get massive critical hit on him, and build fireplace around he will get fire damage.
