1. This game has snagged me like no game has since the initial release of WoW.
   The wishbone isn't just for buried treasure it also points out muddy scrap piles in swamps for iron. EDIT: As I understand it the wishbone needs to be on your hotbar for it to work.

   How we created an invasive species

   Here is a long story story about how we created an invasive species on our Valheim server and wiped out Meadow and Black Forest biomes in a matter of days.

   We relocated to the top of a mountain on the edge of the Black Forest and Mountain Biomes. We needed silver, we wanted a castle on a mountain, it worked. We had tamed Boar in the past but they were more of a hassle than they were worth since they got out and attacked the base all the time.

   We decided to attempt taming Wolves. If it worked great, if not we were ready to give up on taming after the Boar nightmare. We gathered 4 Wolves into a large pen using the Harpoon to drag them down the Mountain then after approximately 2 in game days we had 4 tame wolves. After an hour we came back and had 3 wolf pups, all seemed well.

   We logged on the next day to find the pen broken and 3 of the Wolves were wandering around our Mountain top. We had terraformed the mountain enough that it was difficult to get off except for one path we dug that was also blocked by a gate, so these 3 seemed continent to wander. I circled our Mountain’s edge and found one more Wolf and lead him back to the pack.

   This is when we learned of the natural security they provided. No matter how steep we made our cliffs a deer, boar, or determined Greydwarf would still occasionally find their way up top. Well now the Wolves would attack anything, not us, on sight. When they killed the Boar or Deer that roamed in they would eat… and multiple. They would attack the Greydwarfs creating a natural security system. It was working well. We stopped counting Wolves as we had enough on the Mountain to clean up stray mobs and we no longer needed Wolf Pelt or Trophies for gear.

   Fast forward 2 days later. We are taking our boat through a river in the northern part of our continent headed towards open ocean to search a swamp on a different continent. As we go through the river we see the tell tale sign of enemies being killed. We notice that a pack of “tame” Wolves are running through the northern Black Forest Biome, they had to cross 2 other Biomes to get here and were killing everything in sight. When they kill Deer or Boar they eat, when they eat, they make babies. Our entire continent is now relatively safe as the Wolves have cleared it out of almost all life.

   We created an invasive species.

   UPDATE FOR THOSE WONDERING

   We just drug two wolves behind our boat across the Ocean using Harpoons and have begun breeding efforts on a new continent.

5. You can tame 1 and 2 star boars and they do make starred babies, easy stacks of raw meat

7. The wish bone acts like a metal detector and helps you find silver in the mountains. Silver bars unlock the recipes that also use wolf hides.
