VALHEIM Review | Is it Good? | PC

Let’s take a look at Valheim, a viking-themed survival exploration game and see if it’s good! Based on the Early Access game available on Steam, as of Review I had 19 hours of Playtime.

  1. There is a lot of attention to detail in the building physics too. You can’t snap more than about 3 elevated wooden floors away from a supported structure without building another column or wall. However, if you build wooden floors off a stone wall rather than a wooden wall, the wood floors will have much better support from the stone. But it is virtually impossible to have a second story floor made of stone, because stone floors are very quick to collapse if there is no direct support below them.

  2. The bosses kind of remind me of MMO's, which is a turn-off. Otherwise, it looks interesting. I do like a good survival/building game. Norse culture is a plus. Is there a way to turn off the random white lines that pass by every so often? They're distracting. Can you turn down the particle effects? Also distracting. I agree, the screen shake is too much. How's the camera control? I assume you weren't manually repositioning it, right?

  3. it's the little things that make this game, just one example, while on a hill side cutting down trees, the one i cut fell on another tree and knocked that down, they then rolled down the hill and knocked every tree in there way down, towards the bottom of this hill is where my base is, which just happened to have an invasion happen at the very same time, those logs rolling down the hill, killed everything attacking my base 🙂 this game is mental and i can't get enough of it.

  4. The game is pretty fun if you even get into a game with other people or meet other people then if you always get bored you could just use one of the cheat engines out there to really see what the deal is just saying

  5. honestly, I'm someone who's never really cared for viking influenced games (which seems to be it's own subgenre now) but I've had Valheim for two days and have already put a considerable number of hours into it!

the game just… feels so well made, the team really is doing an excellent job with it. it's not mechanically perfect but that doesn't really matter because just about everything I've experienced so far just… feels right

  6. Man, I don't like the graphics but I almost want to buy the game JUST to thank the developers for catering for the cooperative PvE gaming community and avoiding this cancer overtaking the gaming scene known as battle royale.

  7. This game is rad with a squad. Last night we raided crypts together, threw our ore haul on a long boat, braved the seas and avoided sea creatures. We arrived at the Slithery Snake in, helped my other buddy dredge a canal to expedite ship passage back to our smelters.
Every time I sign on I have some crazy organic adventure. One guy in our squad has focused solely on consumables and we have a dockside meadery with fishing and tables.
