  1. I've been able to put 5 cooking racks on one camp fire. Instead of placing them as you did, place them in rows across. Then stand at the end to access it. Only slight issue is that it is trickier to fuel the fire, but it's only something you really need to do when the fire is out

  2. My first building didn't have a chimney. Instead, I had a steep pitched roof and left fairly large gaps on both sides of the roof for the smoke to escape – the smoke hangs out near the roof and escapes out the sides before it can build up enough to affect us. We've never had a problem with smoke accumulation. Since then, I've build chimneys – which are fairly easy to build as well.

  3. You can use the middle mouse button to make a "ping" on the map. The ping will appear on the edges of your screen when outside of the map for a few seconds. Great for letting other members in the party know where a dungeon or copper deposit is for marking.

You can also ping where you are trying to get to to give yourself a refresher on the direction you are heading to. Great when running long distances.

  5. All you have to do to let smoke out is put a 1unit pillar at the corners of the roof where you want your fire. Elevate the roof on these pillars in that area and the smoke lets out you don't lose shelter or coverage so long as you don't misalign anything.
