  1. It's so amazing how they took the pixelated object compositions and meshed them so well that you can't tell their overall simplicity, crafting an incredible atmosphere and charming aesthetic. This development magic makes the game look great, greatly reduces their server load and highly optimizes engine performance.

  2. I love hearing Huber talk about the game he plays and show so much enthusiasm. At the same time I don't give a shit about most of the games he talks about, but it still warms my heart to know that there are still people who do gaming content that still have that sense of wonder.

  3. This game feels like the second coming of 'Minecraft' to me. Minecraft's beta was when this style of game really hooked me, and I've played others that haven't really hit that same itch and Valheim managed to nail it between the eyes. Survival-lite, PvE focused, and pretty open building has made this a rather tempting game to just lose hours in if not for other games fighting it for attention. The only thing it lacks from Minecraft is being able to build a home into a hillside… But that didn't stop me from digging down deep as I could, hollow out a space and build a roof over it. There is definitely some odd glitchings (mining right below a tree, sometimes the tree will snap up and down), but it's been the delightful sort of glitching and not the 'keyboard throwing' kind.

Have not 'Become as Rock' yet though.

And I honestly can't wait to hit the mountain biome. Apparently you CAN burrow into mountains in those, and while some people are worried about ventilation? I have ideas, and thoughts, and an intent to make my own 'Moria' within them.

  4. Hey Huber, I think it’s really great you’re talking about Valheim. I spoke to Blood on Twitter who said it won’t be reviewed until it’s out of Early Access. I’ve been playing it and I’ve been really impressed, but I’m bummed you guys aren’t formally reviewing it. Do you think not doing EZA Reviews of early access games is the right idea? For instance, I feel like you all could have reviewed Hades wayyyy earlier than you did dude to the high quality of the game even early in its “Early Access”. Would love to know your and other Allies’ thoughts on this.

  5. Unfortunately there aren't 9 biomes at the moment. But for a new early access there is a surprising amount of content! Me and my friends kept being surprised. Best not to look things up too much.

  6. I feel like EZA should be the perfect place for "this game is better with friends", this, terraria mentioned by Brad and Ben earlier in the week etc are all where a big group of bois should excel and I'm happy as fuck to have so many hours streamed of Valheim, I've wanted longform group content forever and I can't wait to catch up on it and see what the guys build.

Comparing it to survival horror instead of chill progression games like terraria/minecraft feels off.

I agree with Ian about where the game is now but I'm not sure how much of that is earliest access ease, like the game warns you about night time but nothing happens at night time, greydwarves, boars and skeletons offer no challenge for the first few hours of the game.

I've already put more hours into this with all my friends than I have AC:Valhalla and Cyberpunk combined, fingers crossed we get some more building items to plug up the holes left by most designs

  7. This was the first time anyone has reminded me to like a video that made me go back and do it. Usually I impulse spam like at the beginning, but apparently I had forgotten to this time.
