Valorant LAN DISASTER Just Got Worse

The NA LCQ has become the biggest disaster in Valorant history as it was forced to halt play yesterday and suspend all matches today after a series of COVID false positive test results have thrown the event into chaos.

The NA LCQ was already under heavy fire by 100 Thieves and others for basically forcing out the two Australian teams, and had to change from the heavily criticized single elimination format…but in the last 2 days it has become one of the biggest disasters in esports. Not only did Riot make players who traveled for a LAN play on servers anyway, but now a series of supposed false positives have completely halted the event before the first round was even finished.

Several FaZe Clan members like Babybay got back a series of rapid COVID tests showing negative and positive results, which means even if they were false positives they are forced to quarantine and can’t be on stage for the Valorant LCQ. And Riot initially tried to get FaZe Clan to play from their HQ instead, but the PC’s there are so much better than the underpowered machines being used at the LCQ that both teams protested the unfairness, and Riot just wound up suspending the entire LCQ.

So when will 100 Thieves, FaZe Clan, and the rest of the NA teams actually get to play again in the Last Chance Qualifier, or will the LCQ be forced to restart entirely? No word from Riot yet on when the LCQ will resume, but it has easily become the biggest disaster Valorant esports has ever seen.

  1. i still dont understand why they decided to make this tournament a LAN. It's caused more issues than there ever needed to be, and every other region is online anyway so why dont NA just follow them

  2. Just letting yall know that MENA region had the biggest LAN ever and yet 3 teams played online and guess what ? The first teams who got disqualified are the once who played in the lan

  3. Bubonic plague, spanish flu, COVID, the virus keeps evolving but when we’ll evolve? Like I need an extra set of arms and eyes to play games while vlogging/type tweets at the same time.

  4. So it's a combo of LA Coronavirus regulations and Riot deciding to host this LCQ in LA that is to blame for all the issues. Makes sense, all the other events hosted so far didn't have these glaring issues, so their eSports organizers are probably doing all they should be doing

  5. It's not riots fault, look at who made the rapid tests, the rubbish tests are not accurate 100% so blame the tests not riot there following the states or countries law. the false postives are happening all over the world out ones In the UK do the same if that happens you have to take a test that takes 24hrs to get back for a 100% true result. Would players prefer that or would they prefer thinking someone has got a false postive to play for only them to pass covid on and someone to get seriously ill after the tourney. People are never happy, YOU CANT PLEASE EVERYONE, don't hold events until laws have died down and life gets back to some type off normality

  6. At this point it's getting rather obvious every administrative org is deliberately making decisions that will anger everyone else just because all the drama will give them more attention and they've pretty much gotten away with murder every time so why not just do it again…

  7. Almost every issue with this whole tournament has come from it being based in LA. Due to the regulations and everything. It was said that the minimum amount of testing for this LAN event has been 10 PER PERSON. Some more. Its good to be safe but damn.
