Here's how I see it. In Death Stranding case, if the reviewer says it's boring and slow yet gives it a perfect score, then that's a problem.
If a reviewer says cyberpunk has flaws and glitches, yet gives it a perfect score, then it's a problem.
However if a person finds a game fun, and another person doesn't experience game breaking bugs during their time, then what's stated in the review and their score is fair as it's based on their experience, regardless of if person B had more bugs to deal with.
Another thing to note is the level of bugs as well. If they're minor and don't ruin the experience, I can understand looking pass them and rating the game highly, especially if the reviewer knows a patch will come later. Ori had a similar situation, though reviewers gave it certain scores and updated them after the patches dropped. Though it does lead me to question why reviews are allowed to be posted when reviewers know their experience may not reflect the final product, unless it's clearly stated what will and will not be fixed.
