  1. Tell em shaun! I also collect vintage video games but for the most part don’t go for the very lucrative titles just ones I’m the nostalgic too and those are very niche thank god lol I don’t want to dump stupid money for these highly speculative products.

  2. No, you aren't wrong Shaun. This is a bubble. Most gamers don't care about graded games. What's the point if you are worried about opening a game to play if you own it? WATA and VGA were brilliant in creating the idea that grading games matters. True gamers don't give a shit.

  3. I agree pop-culture Collectibles are selling for insane prices. But you know what has gone up faster than pop culture end real estate? Crypto. We desperately need a video from you regarding Bitcoin etherium Cardona Dogecoin and all the others. Because money is going to start rotating out of Collectibles and into crypto. Are we living in a new world order where crypto is going to Rule the Day in 20 years? Or is it all a pump and dump scheme?

  4. I was a bidder on Tomb Raider. My max was $5,100. I thought that bid was fair but on the high end, given the game's relative rarity and condition. This was factoring in the inflationary market to date as well. I was only willing to pay that because it's one of the only titles I want now for my personal collection. It hit that number the night before it closed. I saw the final bid the next day and was shocked.

  5. PlayStation closing the store on PS3 and Vita was a market catalyst. Gravity Rush on Vita is now selling for the same price Gravity Rush remastered goes for on PS4. Folklore, 3d dot game heroes, puppeteer have all spiked too. Even irrationality some games like El Shaddai, Asuras Wrath, Lollipop Chainsaw, Splatter house that have Xbox 360 versions have spiked too. If you want easy money get the Xbox 360 versions imo. As the saying goes a rising tide lifts all boats…

  6. What goes up fast, will come down even faster. Going to be alot of bag-holders for these collectibles pumped up with boomer retirement money being thrown at what they don't understand, and stimulus money. 16:28 onward is such great advice. Greed will lead to major loss.

  7. Great video, how come you don’t put a small percentage in crypto currency? You said you listen to Stephen graham. Anyhow I didn’t buy enough bitcoin, I really doubt it’s going back to 20,000 when I bought a small portion. It seems like this is going to be the last chance we are going to get to buy etherum for around 2 grand. Don’t you think future generations are going to gravitate more to crypto currency’s and digital assets? I have never seen a generation such as my own kids or other kids glued on their pc and iPhone all day. I have a very small amount of crypto but it seems like I didn’t buy enough.

  8. Going to pricecharting and checking prices on stuff i own is somewhat of a hobby now. The EU/US differences are also interesting. Castlevania SOTN is on top in the EU and way down in the US, wonder what that would go for slabbed and graded 😛

Prices on PSX/PS2 stuff are definitely rising, last chance to round out your collection before it gets too insane 😛

  9. WATA Graded Atari 2600 games are already "crashing in price" and have been for months now, that's what we do know. WATA doesn't believe or have a fiduciary responsibility to the video game market as a whole because they only want your cash and are manipulating wealthy clients in purchasing mass produced products. The goodwill of the company has gone way down because they will not produce population reports when we know there are boxes of sealed games out there.

  10. The Tomb Raider amount sounds insane to me. There has to be hundreds of copies of that game out there in better condition. Also Tomb Raider was designed for the Sega Saturn originally and I find it weird to put that much value on a port.

  11. A population report would absolutely ruin WATA's cash flow, that's why WATA doesn't want to produce a population report. Wealthy buyers of high dollar WATA graded games are buying into a fools game.

  12. $26K for a Tomb Raider PS2 game!?! These are unsophisticated wealthy speculators and that cash is burning a hole in their pockets. Lets measure that $26K Tomb Raider vs. Silver American Eagles as an example "in the real world." A person goes to a realtor and says I want to use my $26K copy of Tomb Raider that I paid for and I want to use it as a $26K down payment on a home, the realtor won't accept Tomb Raider as a $26K down payment. But the realtor will take $26K in Silver American Eagles as a down payment.

  13. It's amazes me to see much a few PSA 10 Pokemon cards I brought on a whim have inflated within just a year to 6 months ago. No really. $35 now for $250. $80 to $250. $150 to $500. $130 to $350. $230 to $550. Cards I've had on watch lists for years that wouldn't sell for under $40 suddenly go for hundreds. I don't buy to invest but man I can't say that I'm not tempted for once with how inflated the market is. I don't see how anyone could see a lot of these markets being sustainable.

  14. Shawn , I just wanted to quickly mention that I've now finished watching your entire published Youtube content. Thank you for the education and entertainment you've given me. I love this channel and will always support it. This is the only Youtube channel I've ever taken the time to do something like that with and not for one video did it feel like a chore. I really appreciate it mate. Birkin Bag was the best video for me .

I wish you nothing but the best in life mate.

  15. Here goes an early 6K subscriber question for the upcoming Q & A. If China is to surpass the U.S. economy within this decade as the largest economy in the world how will that impact Chinese Gold & Silver Panda coins that are graded? What if China backed their Yuan with Gold and they got world reserve currency status, would Chinese Gold & Silver Pandas have a premium over the American Gold & Silver Eagle coins on the open market?

  16. dude STOP saying "at present time". it makes it so much longer when you say that 30 times in one video. also they weird cadence of your speaking is really fucking annoying too.

  17. I understand why you would want to have a mint videogame box (like art / nostalgia) but I still do not understand why you need a sealed game because you will never play it, no one will.

  18. Can I afford an 9.8 ASM 300? Yes. Am I dumb enough to buy one at its current selling price? Hell no! I believe that “corrections” are not only healthy but are needed time to time.
