  1. To bad that Mortal Kombat 1995 never get a sequel, and never get to see a trilogy with Christopher Lambert as Raiden such a waste of potential.

  2. Mortal Kombat, in theaters, was an experience. I still think it's the reigning and defending winner of the videogame adaptations. I was in that theater on "Fatal Friday" back in '95 and lemme tell you: The Reptile fight was the "Thanos Snap" moment of its day.

Imagine a theater full of fans enjoying the film as it was, hyped after the Scorpion fight, Hyped after hearing "$500 sun glasses" and wondering where Johnny went, and suddenly…Reptile shows up. Everyone was booing, thinking that Liu was going to fight the CG monster, some even saying what a disgrace it was to the epic Reptile character. Then he gets thrown into the statue…the noise starts to fade, cause now people are like "good riddance". Then the statue starts to eat Reptile, and the crowd starts shushing itself, to listen. Then Liu's concerned look pops up, then the camera pans up to the statue's face, and among the crowd, some people get it. You hear the "Ohhhh, is it him? " "Oh my God, they're gonna do it!" "Look to la luna, bitch!" among many other things…and then, silence. That silence was broken by one word: "REPTILE". The crowd erupted into cheers. You guys have no idea how hyped that theater was. It felt like I was at a boxing event. When the fight ended, it got cheers and a loud standing ovation. This is Mortal Kombat. Sure, the crowd was pretty much spent after that, so everything after the Shang fight felt like a reward. The Liu/Chen moment felt emotional, Liu's "let's go home" felt like the end of a roller coaster, and Khan's arrival at the end followed by "I don't think so", felt like icing on the cake.

Here's hoping the new film can replicate that.

  3. I mean you got to expect the cheese sometimes because if they end up becoming really good movies who's to say they're going to keep making the game or the game takes a turn for the worse

  4. I'd remove Super Mario Bros and add in either King of Fighters or Dead or Alive, those were both horrific train wrecks.

Funny story, I remember going to rent House of the Dead from a local video store after some classmates told me how horrible it was, and the clerk told me to put it back and rent literally anything else instead. Still makes me laugh to this day.

  5. I totally disagree with your list! I would replace those boring garbage movies with the entertaining silly movies like Street fighter! Movies were designed to be entertaining and Street fighter for example served its purpose! I don't really mind what they do with fighting games when it comes to the story because what else are they supposed to do? Just have a fight after fight after fight until every single character as done battle until the end of the movie?
As long as the movie comes across as knowing what it's doing for the audience, it's perfectly okay to be a fun silly roller coaster ride of a movie!

  6. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason or even quality control for the videos on this channel. This is like a college video project compared to the actual, good, video essays with actual production.
