Video Game Sequels

Stay tuned for ‘Video Game Sequels 2: Attack Of The Imitations’ and ‘Video Game Sequels 3: Revenge Of The Remaster’.

I’ve been thinking about this one for a while, like when I first played Dark Souls Remastered. I think because they are all released so close together and the core gameplay is so similar it’s feels like you’re sitting in a Japanese Boardroom discussing how to improve on Dark Souls’ combat when you play Bloodborne and Sekiro. Like I can feel the intention of every single change in the mechanics when I play it’s so weird. It’s like the game is speaking to me and telling me how to play it without a word.

I mean the whole thematic sequel can be done in Cinema too like with Weathering With You which has cameos from the characters from Your Name but tells an entirely new story I suppose I should’ve discussed that but I didn’t I wanted to talk about games and gameplay and why a good game can usually always be improved upon and why I’m always excited to see new games released by my favourite developers but when I see a film or TV sequel I instantly think it’s going to be awful. Although I do still enjoy new stories by the same writers and directors.

I suppose I haven’t got much else to say on this one today. The thumbnail took me a hilariously long amount of time for how simple it is.

If you’re reading this, I hope you have a great day!

Lots of Love,

  1. I feel like big franchises should always plan ahead
Like when Disney decided to revive Starwars and got (I think)
    JJ Abrams,
they should have sat down and planned the 3 films
like the over arching narrative I mean
they shoulda fleshed all 3 of them out a bit and wrote it down somewhere
just like to a skeletal form
that way when if 1 director steps out
the other 1 can see where the story was headed and they can pick up where the other left off

I prefer that shows or game series i like have a definitive end
some set in stone sequel amount
I really liked a show called Mr. Robot
the creator said he was only gonna make 4 seasons
and regardless of how popular the show got they stuck to 4 seasons
they didn't pull a Walking Dead and have the show go on indefinitely until nobody cared anymore

This way we don't get dark souls 2's which was my first experience with Miazaki
    ill be honest tho
I still really liked the game
    then again i was 15
and 15 yr old me liked a lot of things 22 yr me does not lol
