Every few years, somehow, some way… we circle back to the myth that Video games can cause problematic behavior. This is categorically, and empirically… untrue. In fact, the exact OPPOSITE conclusion can be drawn if we examine media and gaming correlations.

However, logic is not a universal human trait, and the newest target, 6 Days in Fallujah, has come under fire as a change.org petition (supported by developers and journalists all across the industry) call for it to be banned by the United Nations.

  1. The one big thing that blows me away about this issue is all they are claiming is the violent video games cause violence in real life yet they somehow fail to mention that people made the violent video game and they don’t even say anything about that. It took people to make a violent video game but they think that only playing it will cause you to be violent, not developing or testing it. And if that were true then developers would be committing violent acts all the time, but, wouldn’t you know it, that has never happened because of video games. Second dumbest thing I’ve heard today. I love video games very much and play all kinds of violent video games and I’m doing just fine, never hurt anyone or committed an act of violence

  2. I REALLY hope 6 Days in Fallujah isn't canceled again, this game deserves to see the light of day.

If it actually is published I will be buying more then one copy of it just to spite the game "Journalist's" and everyone else that threw a fit over it.

  3. I would like to know what these same people think about the games that have you shooting Russians. Plenty of games like that out there.
Petitions overall are worthless, because it only shows a certain amount of people who are against with the subject in question. They fail to take into account the people who don't or just simply don't care.
This is why petitions are a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously unless it is actually a serious issue. For example theft, murder etc. Something that can actually affect everyone.
Just because you can gather signatures of like minded people doesn't prove your point right.

  4. I grew up with gta 5 just about as my religion as a kid, and guess who my favorite character was. Yeah I really really liked Trevor Philips to the point that I still say eh and stand in his stance to this day. But you know what? I've never once got the idea to engage in cannibalism, rape, murder, rob, sell and do meth, or anything else. Because just as much bad we see in video games or movies we see the same amount of good.

  5. They're gonna accuse video games of causing violence, which is false, but they don't mention anything about social media contributing to the spread of propaganda, political indoctrination and spreading of depression and other mental health issues among younger people who grow up with a smart phone glued to their face.

  6. Don't you remember those violent videogames people played before World War 1 and World War 2? Those made people really violent. Its not like dehumanizing others makes people violent, its the videogames.

  7. Have you ever eaten a sandwich?
Well if you did you are evil because literally every bad person ever has also eaten a sandwich in their life and since bad guys eat sandwiches that automatically means eating sandwiches makes you evil.
    Correlation is causation after all.
