  1. The game that broke me was FFX. I went for the platinum and I found most of it pretty easy, dodging lightning strikes for Lulu's weapon I got first try, the blitzball grind for Waka's weapon while long wasn't too bad. The part that broke me was the chocobo race. It took me days and a lot of luck and research before I was able to finish with that 0:00 time. Still my proudest plat

  4. Honestly I’m still slightly broken after finding out there’s a “Final” and “Secret” chapters in KH:BBS Final Mix. Can’t believe I’m gonna have to play throughout 2 more bosses, which seem hard as heck. Someone que please tell me: is it worth it? I have already seen the remaining cutscenes and everything…

  5. Moment of mine: when Arthur Morgan admits to the nun that he’s scared.
Playing the game as Arthur and knowing his struggles and he never complains, he just keeps going but when he finally breaks down to the nun and you can see the fear in his eyes is when the tears fell from mine.

  6. I broke at the end of Kingdom Hearts III when everyone was all back together and happy… It dug up a feeling I’d not felt in ages – that feeling of belonging that you got back when you were in high school and your friends were your entire life… Back when nothing could tear you apart, how you’d always be there for one another… And then one day, you wake up and everyone is gone…

  8. Final Fantasy X. Right at the end. I was young at the time, but getting to the end of that and the whole end cutscene. I genuinely thought everything would work out OK and… No. Me = Heartbroken. Last time I cried at a game.

  9. The moment in a game that broke me was when I was going for the platinum trophy in the original watch dogs. I had every single trophy except for the social lubricant trophy. I tried for nearly 10 hours to get that trophy and I could not get it and it finally broke me and I realized I was not getting the platinum in that game

  10. The final boss fight of Viking: Battle for Asgard.
A tower of enemies with no health potions, walls of fire which you have to destroy while fighting off hordes of enemies before you get the actual boss (who isn't that hard in intself). I got so frustrated trying to get past stage 2 of 3 I didn't play the game again for a year and started from the beginning to get my groove again then did it in one go.

  11. Going completionist on the Mass Effect trilogy. If there's not one moment that breaks you; you have no soul. It's a known fact that no games move me anymore because I was desensitized by Mass Effect. Lol.

I could fill a Top 5 just from those games.

  13. I guess the moment I got completely broken in a video game was in Kirby Triple Deluxe for Nintendo 3DS. I was playing the True Arena, a boss rush mode that exists in some Kirby games (there is the Arena which is the normal boss rush mode, and there is the True Arena which is a harder version of the Arena with more powerful versions of the bosses and even some hidden bosses). I barely defeated the EX version of the final boss in that mode and thought I was finally done. I also had very little health left. Then I was devastated to see that the final boss had yet another phase and started to warp all around the screen at high speed. I thought that it was impossible for me to overcome yet another boss phase with such little health left. So I got hit the next moment and my attempt to beat the True Arena ended with great disappointment and disbelief. I honestly wondered if the developers were crazy to put the player through this enormous boss rush.
Another moment when I got seriously emotionally broken in a video game was when I watched a let's play of Undertale and witnessed the True Pacifist ending. I just felt really sorry for Asriel and found it completely unfair that such a nice kid character had to sacrifice himself so all other monsters in the underground could be free and continue living their lives on the surface while Asriel would turn back into a flower. I was emotionally affected for three weeks straight at first when I said to myself that I had to get over this feeling. I started feeling a little better but I was still rather down in the dumps for the next few months.

  15. I appreciate robs bit from the video. As a father to one son it’s sometimes hard to express the worry you have over their life- the mere thought of me losing my boy makes me emotional. It’s hard to bring up those kinds of scary feelings, but rob touched on them with great aplomb. Thanks rob
