Boy the longer I watch Vinny play this game, the more that I see just how much more fun it is with other people.
I just recently died in a swamp because about ten monsters spawned (not even exaggerating) as soon as I jumped off my boat, lost all of my best gear and my boat, died again and lost all of my backup gear trying to get it back because for some reason there's a long strip of ocean that generated right down the middle of the swamp, built a new base nearby, died again getting raided by swamp monsters while trying to build said base, built a raft to try and cross the ocean in the middle of the swamp to collect my backup gear, died again because three leeches destroyed my raft before making it across (it was like the wind was actively working against me the entire trip), built ANOTHER raft and made it across the ocean, collected my backup gear, then died in the swamp right next to my boat where I originally died in the first place.
Maybe it's just me having bad luck, but for as much as I've been enjoying this game, it really seems way too punishing for single players in some circumstances. I know it's still in early access and there's still more content/balancing to be done along with bugs to iron out (there's no way that this weird ocean strip that's cutting the swamp straight in half isn't a world generation bug), but if anyone hasn't played this game yet and is thinking about it, I strongly recommend that you consider playing with friends to avoid shitty situations like mine.

I would strongly recommend that they don't use multiplayer to fight Moder or that's gonna be even more miserable than the Bonemass fight.
At least with Bonemass you can hit it with maces, and it doesn't move around much….
