  1. Can someone tell me if its normal a game keeps eating disk space away while you play it? Just played RE8 today and got to the end of the castle segment and had to delete stuff twice.

    Its safe to say you can restart, you're early enough in vinny. You literally are not losing any progress if you restart.

  3. They should make Ethan's left hand a running gag. If Ethan is in another game, he needs to have the thing split in half and reassembled with an Elmer's Non-toxic Glue stick, an office stapler, or just wishful thinking.

  4. Proud of Vinny for picking hardcore! It will make the game so much more compelling later on.

    The difficulty of the survival encounter has got to be a balancing fluke. I hope it doesn't encourage Vinny to wuss out to standard difficulty.

  5. Yeah RE Engine has some buggy behaviors where performance goes to hell when you do different stuff like alt tabbing out and in. Oh hey that old lady was voiced by the lady that did the voice of Baba Yaga in Castlevania LoS. I recognize the laugh.

  6. So it looks like Vinny's big mistake here is he kept running "ahead" of the scripted sequence. He's meant to pull a shelf in front of a door, WAIT for the lycans to break through it, then fall back, shoot the flour bag to cover his escape down the ladder, wait down there until the lycans surround him at the exit from the crawl space, then shoot the flour bag there, etc.

    Thing is, the game gives no indication that he's supposed to be "playing along" with their scripted event. Instead he was just hauling ass, shooting flour bags on sight for no reason, etc.

    If the game wants you to do a particular thing, it probably shouldn't just let you run around everywhere.

  7. I earned my PhD in Game Design by inventing the scripted scenario where "the player has to lose in order to progress, unless they lose too quickly in which case it's just a game over"

  8. This is the first fuckin level hes not gonna just swallow his pride and replay the first few minutes? hes gonna continue slamming his head against a wall for the rest of the game and start to hate it more?
