  1. The RE8 discussion made me think about something..WHAT IF…Most ALL PS5 games are already VR ready but not for current Headsets..WHAT IF..when PSVR2 drops it's literally as simple as a selectable option just like in Dreams how it can be flat or VR?? I mean..there really is no reason it couldnt be if the tech is in the hardware and programming is encoded off bat..just..thinking..hopeful possibilities 🤷🏻‍♂️

  2. You only need Hitman 3 to make 1 or 2 work you DO NOT have to have 2..I have 1 and 3 in VR and all work perfectly..it was very confusing..I had a gamer from the UK call me and walk me through it..if you only own 1..you go into 3, go to upgrade to GOTY for FREE (you dont have to pay for it Ryan, only if you go to the PSN store it will charge you..if you access it through Hitman 3 menus it is all free, anyways..once you do that you then upgrade access pass again for free through Hitman 3 menu and then you look at the campaigns after it's all downloaded and all levels are present and available in Hitman 3 from hitman 1..and I do not own Hitman 2 yet..its otw from ebay tho

  3. Great episode, guys.
Regarding the importing of older Hitman games into Hitman 3, it's super convoluted, but some of the gamecats figured it out. I'll try to explain.
First of all, you DO get the free upgrade for Hitman 1 (and I think 2?), and you DON'T need Hitman 2 to get Hitman 1 levels in 3. For either game, what you have to do is download and install that game (say, Hitman 1), then go into the store WITHIN that game (again, Hitman 1 for example) and download all the free things it lets you (should be at least a Legacy Pack, and a GOTY upgrade). Once all of that stuff is downloaded and installed, go into Hitman 3, and in the store within Hitman 3 there should be more free stuff to download which allows you to import the levels from the older game. Once you've imported everything, you can delete the older game.
It's a mess, and I can't believe that anyone thought this method was an elegant solution, so they're probably getting around some tricky problems. If I had to guess, I'd say it might have something to do with H1 and 2 being published by SquareEnix, but Hitman 3 being self-published by IOI. Either way, IOI should have released a "how-to" video or some shit, because people like Ryan are buying upgrades that they don't need to pay for, because it seems to a reasonable person like the only way to make it work.

  4. As for the great controller debate, I agree they should give the option of DS4 with head tracking and no motion.
More than that, I'd like to see them offer DS4 for your left hand (to handle movement and whatnot), and a Move controller for your right (for gestures and aiming). Some things wouldn't feel right, like choking or garrotting (where it makes sense to have both hands up there); but on the whole I think that would offer the best option short of using a Move with the Nav controller, which aren't available in stores and also aren't compatible with the PS5.
I also agree with you that using an Aim would be dumb (sorry Dave), EXCEPT if they added support for it specifically for the Sniper Missions. Although you'd still be dealing with the 2D scope in that case.
On the topic of scopes, Shugg is right about how intensive it is to do scopes in games. It isn't just an issue of rendering an extra perspective (potentially for each eye). It's also a LOD issue. Hitman 3 seems to rely fairly heavily on scaling down the Level of Detail on distant assets, or even having them pop out entirely when they aren't close. When the scope zooms in, suddenly you have to increase the LOD for everything that it sees and draw in objects that wouldn't normally be there, meaning you have a specific visual area that is distant at a high LOD and more item density (which is movable depending on where you aim), then the rest of the distant area at a low LOD and depopulated, then the area around your character at a high LOD again (unless you occlude it, which has its own issues). It's sort of a nightmare. I haven't played the games you mentioned that pull it off, but I'd imagine they're either running on beefier hardware, or they aren't pushing around the sort of high detail assets that Hitman is.

TL;DR Like Shugg said: Scopes are not impossible, but very difficult to pull off. Especially on a game that's seemingly taxing the platform to its limits.

  5. No grid issue with me, only the issue of trying to put stuff in my inventory and having to reset the camera with options and sitting forward.
It's essentially giving me a complex… that I'm just too fat to be a hitman in real life! (which is I suppose for the best).

  6. No disc needed!
Regarding hitman 2…I bought the hitman2 disc for ps4 off eBay. Once installed and imported into hitman 3, it doesn't need the disc in the slot to work.

hitman 1 was free in the ps + Feb 2019. People may already have it. Look in purchases and reinstall. I thought I had it but I didn't bother because I'd got it on the Xbox (sods law strikes!)
