  1. Does anybody else think that the Mindflayers are maybe making these enhanced tadpoles in order to infect a god or something powerful like that? I mean they can infect fiends (A Flind) and undead (Asteron), are nigh irremovable, and have powerful wills of their own. I don't think sleeper Tadpoles that cause sudden transformation is where this scheme ends. I think it's just the beginning

  2. This is just a mild speculation, but perhaps the tadpoles have a insanely powerful enchantment upon them to force them into stasis, and, following the events on the ship, and what you learn going through everything and how many other people seem to have the same type of tadpoles, what if, and this is a big but more than likely if, what if their hoping that with these tadpoles they can essentially keep anyone from ever extracting them, and when the time comes, simply flip a lever and suddenly a new Empire is born with thousands upon thousands of them bursting forth this would also give merit to the trailer where there were shown to be several of the mythical Mind Flayer ships with tons of dead people around a city and people turning into MindFlayers.
