To be honest, I like the first version better.
When it gets dark, I liked that they sang long notes, which of course has been changed.
And the verse after that I thought was really cool that there were the, I guese, pauses, and that made the song really unqie!
There's some of that here too, but much less, so that it made the verse less impactful.
Still a really good song, but I like V1.
