Minecraft Education Edition is a version of the game designed for…. well, education. It has a lot of unique features however, many of which would be great to have on java.

  1. I wasn't sold until Classroom Mode. Holy crap, that would make the barrier of entry for servers so low, as well as hosting small private servers less of a pain.

  2. I played Minecraft edu back in the day. It was running through Java 1.6 and was hosted by the public library. The library also had a server accessible from thier computers which turned into an anarchy server because the library staff never moderated the server. The server had lava placement disabled, TNT, etc. But it did make for some fun.

  3. I remember when our school would just use Java Edition to play because that’s all there was. Education Edition is definitely cooler now that it exists and has many useful features tailored to schools.

  4. Of course the sparklers and glowsticks don't make light. Minecraft's lighting engine doesn't allow for stuff other than blocks to emit light so it isn't a missed opportunity, it's an impossibility

  5. I remember a few years ago our computer lab teacher let us have a unit entirely on Minecraft education edition. He didn't really know how to play Minecraft or set anything up, but he was laid back and just let us run around the world and do whatever for a bit. My friends and I just kept stealing each other's stuff

  6. Glow stick and sparkler dont emit light cuz Minecraft doesnt have dynamic lighting.. Sucks man, i agree it would of been really cool. I remember playing modded Minecraft and i could have a torch in my left hand and walk with light folllwing but i cant remember the name of the mod. Love your videos!!!

  7. Border,Npc,allow/deny are all able to be accessed in bedrock(via commands) without turning the education switch on. I wanted to say this so if you want to use these features without edu mode on, you can just use commands

  8. During my last year in middle school my school forgot to remove Minecraft education edition from the playstore on the Chromebooks so everyone in school started Speedrunning the game and just playing with friends but during highschool they took it away lol
