  1. I kit bashed Sammael onto a Custodies jet bike and I want a story where Sammael and some of his Ravenguard go to Terra and liberate a few Jet Bikes because you know they are the 1st and should have the archeotech

  2. One reason why your jetbike captain is taking so much damage is because on other battle reports the captain is mostly around other bikes which stops him from being targeted at all. Also they make the 5+FNP. There is also the tactic of threat distribution. He should have pushed up so that the DA player would have very tough choices to make. If he does not target 1 than another might kill him just the same. Custodes are very good at threat distribution That is how custodes bike captain stays alive so long.

  3. I like to have a Telemon heavy dreadnaught in front and behind it a vexilla magnifica . He has a special aura which -1 to the hit roll for shooting. I move him up behind the dreadnaught which is very chunky and can absorb a lot of damage. Although he is lack luster when it comes to damage output that is not his purpose in my list so I don't care, He is just there to tank and tank he does, so it is worth it for my play style. Once I get close (Very Close like 6 inch close to enemies because of the tanking of the dread) enough I pop the vexilla teleport homer strat for free which will allow me to teleport within 6 inches of the vexilla but more than 3 inches away from enemy models allowing me to teleport EVERYTHING into the center and just murder everything. with "superior fire pattern" double rapid fire. All of this by turn 2. Strike REALLLY hard and REALLLLY fast. Do not hesitate and go all out. I don't bother with Sagg guard because they don't really work out for me. Their shooting is great but nothing compared to getting more melee. I don't bother with the smaller dreads either because I just get more infantry. This is a infantry/bike playstyle rather than a dread heavy playstyle which in my mind is less risky because you have more attacks and not be crippled by 1s much like with dreads with smaller number of attacks. The ramaining infantry hold objectives with mostly storm-shields. It makes them almost impossible to shoot off. *Keep your reroll 1 supports nearby*!!!!!! you lead your army too ahead of them and they become useless in the case of rerolls. My bikes just zip around the battlefield killing off least defended objectives and vehicle kill with the lances. Bikes could have been so good in the bat rep.( This was a reply buy it merrits its own comment so everyone can see it better.)

    1998pt 8CP

    Dread Host

    HQ-
    Captain-General Trajann Valoris(Free teleport homer and rerolls)
    Shield-Captain on Dawneagle Jetbike-Auric Aquilas, Captain-Commander, Strategic Mastermind, Superior Creation, Ten Thousand Heroes. (will roll with bikes and provide damage and re-rolls.)

    Troops-
    Custodian Guard Squad- X3 all stormshield (hold objectives)
    Custodian Guard Squad- X3 all stormshield(provide cover for the vexilla)

    Elites-
    Allarus Custodians- X6 4 Misericoridas(main damage dealers/ character killers. They massacre anything in their path. )
    Vexilus Praetor- All-seeing Annihilator, Raiment of Sorrows, Storm Shield, Vexilla Imperius, WARLORD.( exploding 6s, 4+ dice roll death attack(1 shooting or 1 melee attack), +1 attack for all within 6 inches of him, Will support Allarus with these traits.)

    Fast Attack-
    Vertus Praetors- X5 2 salvo launcher ,3 Hurricane bolter(horde and vehicle Killers/ Secondary Damage dealers, will support main allarus "Bomb" when it arrives and destroy any THICC vehicle target like Dreads before the allarus arive. They are also fast as Faq BOIIIIIIIII)

    Heavy Support-
    Telemon Heavy Dreadnought- Arachnus Storm Cannon , Eternal Penitent , Telemon Caestus(provide cover for vexilla, Subsidiary damage dealer.)

    This list relies Heavy on the vexilla teleport "Allarus Bomb" and obsec. This list is very scary in close combat with okay shooting. I perfer their melee over their shooting.

    Any suggestions?

  5. We will most certainly keep Brilliant Strategist because it is listed as a Warlord Trait for us in the main SM Codex. They wouldn't just turn around and take it away. Had it only been in the temporary supplement FAQ then I'd be less sure. Deathwing Knights ARE core btw. 🙂 At least at the moment based on the Supplement FAQ.

  6. Good batrep, little upset at points with no strats being used in the DA turn by the Custodes. Missed opportunities to reduce AP and ignore wounds on 1-3.

    Remember that Custodes are hyper aggressive but need time to get Into CC so don’t be scared in burning CP to keep them alive, turn 3 onwards they usually come into their own.

    I would also suggest a 5 man shield squad just to really make friends 😂
