  1. I'm looking forward to it. I do think they are piggy backing on the success of the bloodborne board game kickstarter that has just completed. One of the most successful kickstarters of all time so I can't blame them for realising that gothic horror is a popular genre. Yharnam ( the bloodborne setting) also happens to be a cursed city, filled with werewolves, vampires and undead too. Also, sword on the back of the hunter is perhaps a nod to Geralt of Rivia?

  2. I'd definitely break the no minis in 2021 for this. I'm not sure how interested the Scalpels would be, though. It depends if it's a limited release or following the BSF model, where it will be available regardless

  3. Definitely more interested n this than the kill team one. I ner had the Silver Tower, but I id have the WHQ from back in the late 90's to early 2000's. Hoping it plays similar.

  4. I’m looking forward to it. I think you could be right based off of black stone fortress but wouldn’t be surprised if they do get announced as scenarios in the main game.

  5. While I loved the idea of Blackstone Fortress, that set was pure overkill. It had 5 books and tons of cardboard, that's a huge turn off for me. I often say to myself that "I'm going to make time and set it up to play!", but really I'm just excited about the new models and I hope the game is fun lol. Now that I got a printer, great looking models are no longer a luxury. So I'm not hyped till see the total package and some gameplay videos. I wanna see if this game is lighter, faster, and just plain better than what I seen from Blackstone Fortress. I really like the world of AOS and single/coop games can be fun to play, especially during lockdown.

  6. I got back into the hobby with BSF and it has been great in lockdown and its proved a good gateway into that world for a my non-hobbiest/wargamer wife (its not overly complicated and it gets a lot quicker with practice too). I've still got expansions to paint and play, not to mention some bits for 40k proper also, so it has done and is still doing its job. So yes I am very interested in this Warhammer Quest offering, the setting of AoS but more grimdark looks great in my book… I more just worry for my wallet and the plastic crack addiction I've gained in the last year.

  7. Hopefully they will have learned some key lessons from Blackstone:
    1. End with a bang not a whimper. Ascension is good, but the lack of another annual is poor. What actually happens isn't exactly clear either, and to my knowledge not picked up in the wider lore.
    2. Proper WD support. Silver Tower got heaps of WD characters to play, it felt. Blackstone got some solos. Massive missed opportunity. Give us more.
    3. Gameplay drag. The random combats were great, but too many of them to get to the meaty special scenarios. The challenges were annoying and dull, doubly so if playing solo. Trim the fat.
And most importantly of all: Make enough product or use made to order, to satisfy the fans and frustrate the scalpers. A MTO run of Blackstone expansions a few weeks after Ascension was out would have been a godsend for late starters.

  8. I haven't been this excited about a GW release since Space Hulk, but I definitely want to see the rest of the components and find out the price before committing to it. If it's as good as I think it'll be (and the price isn't completely obscene), I'll be all about it.

  9. This was a actually a big meh for me, I think the warhammer Quest mini sculpts are fantastic sure…. But after playing Silver tower and Blackstone, the effectual grindy missions and combat that are basically copy and paste is seriously off putting imo. Speaking to friends and family who are gamers we would have preffered Battlefleet Gothic or even Old World wars news.

Sorry if this is too negative but i really am happy your looking forward to it and you enjoy the Warhammer Quests, also hope you get a copy on release day!

I just have different tastes bud πŸ™‚

  10. The only thing that can let this down for me is if they announce its 2-5 players like shadows over hammerhal. Because they're announcing Agents and Overlords comparatively at Cursed City – Age of Sigmar I'm getting really nervous lol. Though they did compare the game to Silver Tower and Blackstone fortress directly so. UGH I just want to know!

  11. I really want to find out more. I think I am going to wait and see and resist. Can’t be doing with the crazy dash on preorder day. I am going to use the setting and what comes with this as inspiration for painting and terrain projects instead.

  12. I've never played WH Quest, had no real knowledge of it. Something about this has sparked more than a smidge of interest though (and I've gone and watched some Quest bat-reps). I love the two minis shown and hope the overall aesthetic of the set lives up to what we have so far seen. I have very gothic sensibilities and regularly creep around graveyards. If the rest of the minis are as spot-on, I think I'm in (assuming it doesn't suffer a big fat GW Covid/Brexit price tag). I have War Cry, Kill Team & Necromunda (and my other half has backed Core Space First Born and Darkest Dungeon). I think this will be a nice contrasting alternative to the GW Skirmish games I have. I'm (a bit) excited and might have to go without some Necromunda and Warcry purchases I'd planned and get this, but will it have pricey expansions like BS Fortress???

  13. Very interested in this game, though I doubt it'll be a new 40K box set, sold out before you could the GW site to load, level of popular. It looks incredible to those into the "side" Warhammer fantasy games, and it probably looks really cool to all the 40K players, but mostly it's just going to be us fantasy fans who actually buy it. Much like with their fantastic new Blood Bowl box.

  14. Great video and even better prediction. I skipped the other WHQ games but this looks cool and you have me so hyped to play it. Thanks for all the content. The grayed out areas on the map had symbols that matched the 3 characters shown and one I am assuming is the wolf.
