the lore is a bit complicated if you haven't explored trollge, but its this:
trollge is an organism that came to the world, starting in nyc in 2010. over time, it became more corrupt, causing incidents, with one of the first being the "stairway to heaven" incident, where he contaminated the water supply of new york city with a oil-like substance, and causing everybody who was contaminated with the substance to float to the sky when coming into contact with rain. the files of "the first trollge incident" and "how to trollge your best friend" have also been posted by BunnyMalicious that provide more exposition, see them below:
