Is Xiao good? Is Xiao REALLY worth it?? Should you summon for Xiao?
Xiao is a really great DPS main carry… but he’s also extremely risky to use. I love Xiao, but he’s a very selfish character and it can often lead to a bad situation and cause a bad run in domains, in spiral abyss and vs bosses. In this Xiao gameplay video I have Xiao vs Childe, a domain and vs the new Geovishap. I discuss how DPS Xiao can really help deal major damage, but how you need to build xiao a good team for him to be able to survive and play to the best of his ability. I’ve included both my 5 star full DPS and Support Build using the Primordial Jade Winged Spear (With Zhongli, Venti and Qiqi) as well as a budget 4 star build with the Prototype Starglitter (with Diona, Qingqiu and Sucrose). I hope this helps people make a decision when deciding if you should summon for Xiao or building a team for Xiao.

Sorry for the Delay! I want to collect my thoughts be fore making a proper video about Xiao. I didn't hope my fellow Xiao fans won't be too mad that I roasted him a bit. I still think he's a great DPS unit, but he's a bit harder to use than other main carries and is a very selfish character in general. I just thought it needed to be said since most Youtuber's I've been watching haven't gone into depth about this. I hope this helps a few people out when making a decision about Xiao. Been saving for Ayaka since Klee banner but I used to get angry and all 😅 because i couldn't clear abyss with only 1 main dps Character for the primos, so i decided to pull for him and luckily i got both Xiao and Jade Spear on 63 pulls in total.
Just last night i leveled him up to 80 and cleared till floor 12. (#So happy)

I decided to pull him as f2p is just because i have bennett and jean on the team. I don't have to worry about his hp at all. Theres no way he can survive in a long fight without a good support.

Absolutely true… xiao is actually a beast if you have full ult uptime, but he's too vulnerable.
I can't even imagine using xiao I ult firm without zhongli and feel very happy to have zhongli. He not only gives the res shred but also makes xiao completely immune to knockbacks and preserve him from damage.
My combo for ult goes like : ZhongLi shield – > Bennet Ult + E – > Sucrose ult+E+E and quickly into xiao Q so that the particles go into the ult.
Once his ult is over i usually have all ults back even if there's just 2 big tank enemies.
I would advice to use a shield character (preferably zhongli) if you have or are going to pull for xiao.
Sure but not when you have zhongli in the party lol. He can't die basically and he will deal more damage
I always wanted an anemo DPS but Xaio style with Burst+Loose HP isn't what I really want, I will try to pull him if I have the chance to get him before banner gone but I'm disappointed that there is not yet an other pure Anemo DPS in the game, (Fire = klee diluc+Hu tao) but anemo no choice, others anemo caracteres are more support…
i'm planning on having xingqiu, bennet and sucrose in xiao's team but should i change one of them to a shield character instead?
idk i have him rn i dont even use a healer when i use his ult and hes fine. it just looked like u didnt realize childe was doing an attack at that moment cuz his health was still generally high despite using his ult for a bit
u only lost a bunch of health because childe was shooting his arrows and u stayed in the exact spot he was shooting at which made no sense. nice vid but its kinda exaggerated how weak he is in terms of health
in my opinion, he is worse than zhongli pre buff. he can be a deadweight in coop unless your coop team is willing to be shield / battery for you.
dont get me wrong, i have heavily invested in xiao, pjws and maxed with decent artifacts. which i dont think is feasible for alot of players.
he really needs perfect team to support him, shield, healer for the hp drain, and anemo battery for him.
hp drain, ER issue and glass canon is alot of drawbacks for a great damage.
my klee xingqiu combo does around same amount of dps with him, with lesser sacrifices.
Favorites > Meta! If you really like Xiao, you'll make him work and he seems to work well but as you said he has the major weakness of being really squishy. Great informative video as always!
In coop, he is always the one to die first because no one wants to play a healer sad. When Im playing with a Xiao I just run a barbara for them lol. He is really not powercreep, whale youtubers just overhype him and setting unrealistic expectations for their viewers. Xiao is a great character tho dont get me wrong but he's not broken like whales say.
As a Xiao stan and a fan of his playstyle I agree, he definitely has his deficiencies but I love the hack and slash style and getting into the fight. I think MHY should buff his health loss or buff anemo altogether
I do not regret getting Xiao honestly, he was the DPS I needed since my other two 5 stars are Zhongli and Qiqi. I even have a c2 Sucrose with Sacrificial Fragments. I'm determined to make him work as my only other DPS I've really invested into is Razor.
I was wondering about this team: qiqi, xiao, sucrose, xingqiu. Because I was debating replacing someone with jean or if that's a good team.
i only have c0 sucrose, should i invest on her?
the "you must fight 2 kind of bosses to level up xiao" can be fixed with the new gemstone converter materials

hes so fun to use, the aspect of learning his mechanic along with the monster/ spiral abyss/ any other game content combined, makes it challenging which for some people like me feels fun to play
im pairing him with bennet xingqiu and anemo mc, and i agree i do mess up sometimes and die xD
apart from those things, hes op when youve mastered him more.
i cleared abyss f6 9* on AR30(smurf) because of him carrying first half team easily so i can focus more on building the team on second half instead of both balancely.
An excellent character that requires a certain team comp and an expensive investment to deliver his best potential. So basically, a pre-buff Zhongli but DPS and without all the complaining.
I pulled Keqing on standard banner. She will be my first 5 star carry. But I am also close to guaranteed pity in featured banner. I'm still analyzing if I should go for Xiao or not. I can use both though in Abyss for 2 teams tho I cleared 12-3 thanks to Zhongli and Albedo.

I'm still only AR 25, getting the hang of things. Wondering if xiao, xingqiu, qiqi, bennet seem like a worthwhile team to invest in? :0 And if dragonsbane is worth running with that team? (Only 4 star pole i have atm and I can't afford to get the battle pass for Deathmatch)
Maybe not just brain dead plunge attack when fighting enemies that you need to dodge? Even Dilluc can get one shot if you just spam autos and skills
thats my exact team, except for venti i have sucrose. I was super worried that i couldn’t get a proper weapon for him. But now im not sure if i can live without the er from starglitter

That opening is just bad game play, you still need to dodge Childe's hit otherwise ANY character will die like you did. Gotta do mechanics mate.

I got 300 EM (increased swirl dmg by 117.5%)
4 piece venerer – (Swirl dmg increased by 60%)
Weapon's passive – Increased dmg affected by pryo or hydro by 36%
i’m so glad i built my qiqi and bennett, it’s great when i can heal fast
so unlike the other character in the game he actually has a skill ceiling got it
Ningguang is a glass cannon both literally and figuratively but she has some range at least. He's like if she didn't have space.
i'm an f2p player and my xiao is just waaaay stronger than ur p2w lol. like hitting childe with a plunge deals around 35k . so yeah

Glass-Canon is Ganyu, he is just Glass-Pistol…
1) Needs a healer and a battery (or Jean for both)
2) needs energy recharge on top of that
3) needs animation cancel to optimaze damage
4) can be hit in the air (a shield is a good bonus for him)
5) his plunge will scatter little monster
6) sometimes camera and lights can cause little problems and the auto aim on the E is not 100% optimal
7) weak without burst
8) x2 times resin for ascend him
9) C1 even if not necessary grant him more energy and damage, really good to make less investment in both
10) bad cons, C2 and C4 are really not so good for how much you need to spend and C6… Well if can get C6 for sure you are not here reading this
For me? Am gonna to town with cons of bennet and ning in the next banner, more value and less resorces destruction for my account
