What Happened To Lillia? – Why NO ONE Plays Her | League of Legends

Many of the new champions in 2020-2022 have had very successful initial launches, featuring well over a 10% pick rate for several months and it usually holds long after their initial hype dies down. Some of them don’t and for today, we’re gonna find out why that’s the case for Lillia: The Bashful Bloom!

  1. Lillia needs 2 things. She needs a better movement ability and something to make her less of a free kill.
    1. Her W could be a longer jump that can either jump small walls or let her keep moving if she is hit with a CC, much like Ezreal's E.
    2. Her passive could be changed. She could keep what she has but then gain some armor/magic res. with each stack she has. Maybe even change the heal to resistances.

  2. all the things that u said are bad about her are actually what make her a good design, you have to learn the rhythm of her dance, weaknesses are a positive thing a character that is op would be a bad design. lillia is not played because she has an unconventional play style nothing more

  3. a shield or invulnerability on her W would make a moderately unusable in most pvp situations ability a much more important tool, and/or giving it the ability to go over walls. i honestly think the rest of her kit is actually just good enough that buffing it isn't going to be a good idea, but her w is kind of a let down

  4. I don't agree with your analysis. People don't understand what hit and run actually means and how you can actually use it.

People think of lillia like a skirmisher, but in reality, she is a lot more like a tanky adc(like old urgot or something). You aren't supposed to build full damage on her, because you don't need that much damage, you need to stay alive time enough for your "small heal" to take effect, and after that, you can stay for a long time in the battle chirping the enemys with your Q and passive burning damage.

Her passive has a "small heal", but it holds itself for 3 sec. If you have 250 ap, you heal up to 155 hp per second, make that times 4 or 5, and you can heal upwards to 775 hp per second. You just need two tank items to become basically impossible to kill.

People like to think about Lillia as a damage character, but she is a distraction, something to get atention while your team do the real job. People don't play her because people like to be the main character.

  5. My suggestion: lower her stacking on the Q to 3 (riot tradition afterall) but once she hits that, any additional q's landed on enemy champs cleanses her. While its not really an obvious defense, the fact she could dive someone like a darius and not worry about the bleed, or teemo and cas and not worry about the posion, as well as countering many of the cc champs, would give her her own identy, mixes with the dream vibe, and matches her hit and run style.

  6. I still remember the days when I did Lillia support. It's not the best, but if done well, you can give the adc the right advantage. Yet there are problems with running it.

  7. lillia’s mini rework was great job from riot

    she was facing 2 problems:
she was too strong on early levels on top
she was clearing jgl too fast

giving her more sustain and nerfing her early Q was all she needed

inconsistent champs are meant to remain underplayed. It doesn’t mean they are not strong.

(although opness gives a champ consistency)

  8. Heavily disagree on your notion of AP bruiser items being much weaker than AD. Ask any high elo player what the most OP item in the game is and they'll say Zhonyas. Also, let's actually go over the "AP bruiser items" instead of just brush up on them or their stats.

Zhonyas: Cost effective armor, AP, and CDR WITHOUT considering the overpowered active stasis, that's quite literally a "get out of jail free card" that can turn fights
Demonic embrace: Health, armor/mr, AP, and a %health damage passive. Doesn't give you the tanky stats or shield of steraks, but heavily outdamages steraks and busts tanks. Ever seen a brand use this? yeah..
Banshee's veil: AP, MR, and CDR with a spellshield.
Rylais: lots of health, AP, and a 30% slow

Across the board the thing "AP bruiser items" have going for them is sheer utility. You can't really compare the two because AD bruiser items are one dimensional, giving damage and stats or a shield while AP bruiser items heavily incentivize versatility and outplay potential. Also, I'd like to pose this question to you or pretty much anyone. What item would you rather have on lilia or any other mage — an AP item that gives you 500 shield? or Zhonas. Speaking for myself, I'd much rather have some sort of reusable stasis than a 500 shield on pretty much any AD bruiser.

  9. Someone that plays a lot of Lillia here.

I think that movement speed and her healing are arguably good defensive tools that keep her alive, and even against champions like Kha Zix they can't really look for a fight on you early game because they don't have the damage for a complete one shot and you get heal + slow + movespeed to stay out of his range after the initial engage, which makes continuing the fight dangerous for him and other champions.

I just think that league itself right now has so much natural healing and natural movement that those strengths do not seem as good when others get those as tools + more. Like you said about Hecarim, he gets the speed, healing, but then on top of that gets some damage for building movespeed.

  10. I always play Lillia as a juggernaut with Conqueror, Riftmaker, Demonic Embrace and Dead Man's Plate. But I think by far the worst thing about her is her W can be interrupted. So in like half of the matchups in the game you will only rarely get to use it. They should make it unstoppable or something.

  11. I think it would be interesting to give Lillia something similar as Tristana's passive that increases range with level, except instead, slightly increase the range of her q depending on how many movement speed stacks she has. This way the longer a fight goes, the safer she can play while still contributing to a fight. Might also be easier to get consistent dream dust for better ults. Also would be interesting if they implemented something on her W similar to Nidalee; she can pounce farther towards sleeping targets, or even have increased movement running towards them during the 1.5 seconds it takes the ult to activate. Or, bring back ROA 😆

  12. I think they need to do something about her W. You dont use it in late game cause its way to slow, and your Q+E combo do more dmg that her W sweetspot, so you dont wanna use it when your ult.
