If they started selling battle passes from the past they would definitely lose tons of players.
Idc they should at least have crossover skins available in the shop. There are too many iconic characters that can never be obtained again like wolverine, Iron Man superman, Mandalorian etc. those are the only things I care about personally tbh. I could care less about the fortnite original skins but a lot of people want them so fuck it let them have it. Battle pass skins rarely even get used at least from what I see
So, I only started playing fortnite in chapter 2 season 3, so I didn't really get the chance to buy the BP before that, and I couldn't complete a few season's BP's because of school. I think that bringing back BP cosmetics is a good idea, but I think they should sell the BP as a whole (like wraps, gliders etc.) that way they can charge more for them. I know that some people have worked hard for their BP sets, but there's no need to gatekeep certain things from other players just because they were unable to play that season. And I think that they should only sell a BP year's after it's release, that way people will play while it's a BP, because they wouldn't want to wait years for it… 🤷🏻
I'd say the only way this idea could work with selling Battle Pass stuff is selling us Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault. Not because of the fact of, "wE nEeD tHoSe SoLd In ThE iTeM sHoP cUz ThEy OG !" No. I was mainly thinking because we aren't exactly getting "Season Shops" anymore, which is what they called the Item Shop originally, these wouldn't exactly be selling from a Battle Pass per say, plus they could always have like a limited time event or a thing to buy in the shop like the recent Monarch skin where there was a certain amount of challenges or something within a limited time frame that could give the same vibe like when you had to reach a certain level to be able to even purchase the skins back in Chapter 1 Season 1.
That's just if they want to pull an idea like this and they don't want a huge amount of backlash from their playerbase and there's still stuff there that can be grinded to get.
just RESELL the OLD BATTLEPASSES alongside the current one, solves some of the cons you listed. but yeah the existence of reskins kills all hope of getting those skins to new players
I'd buy some battle pass skins cause I didn't play the season for rox and demi. And that one that's called something vs beauty
So put a "legacy skin" in each battlepass. Recycle a random skin from a previous battlepass that is at least 2 years old? Not necessarily a tier 100 skin either. Who the fuck would go "nahh, I'll just wait 2 years and pay over double the price of the entire battlepass"? If they want a skin the best way to get it is in the battlepass. I haven't a battlepass for any of the skins lately. I buy the battlepass because it's only 950, but earns 1600! That's a net gain…

I’d welcome it, or to have at least the option of purchasing missing edit styles for skins like mandos beskar armor or the omega lights
There is only one battle pass skin I want and that is iron man missed out on him and I'm so upset and really want him to come out in the item shop.

I personally like the idea but I think I’m a bit biased because I started playing Fortnite quite late on (chapter 2 season 5) and I was really gutted when I found out I missed out on the marvel season because I loved the idea of a Mystique skin because she is one of my favourite marvel characters.
Imo Fortnite should NEVER under any circumstances bring back past Battle Pass items. If for any Future Battle Passes they make it explicitly clear that the items can be released in the item shop, then sure, there's no broken promises. But the whole point of the Battle Pass is that they are exclusive and they should not come back just because some people missed them.
I don't think Epic Games would ever sell skins from the battle pass in the item shop, and here's why. Us people who buy the battle pass, we put so much time into unlocking those rewards, time that we cannot get back. And for what? So players can buy up those skins in a few seconds? It's NOT gonna happen. If somebody misses buying the battle pass because they don't have the money for it, or they just started late and didn't had enough time to unlock hardly anything, that's not our problem.

Let's be honest, we don't rock old skins. Ask yourself when was the last time you saw a old BP skin in your lobby. I double take when I see an old BP skin in my lobby
They could do what they did with skull trooper and give an edit style to the original owners
I personally would really like it if I could get the reaper or black knight skin, it's so neat
The point of the BP (in Smite) is to dedicate time to earn stuff at a deal price. Would you rather spend $150 for 3 skins + 3 recolors, or $12 to get all that + more if you just play the game

People don’t even run previous battle pass skins anymore and it’s being forgotten. I think if they do sell battle pass skins, People would still play this game regardless. And no it is not too late to sell.
I would love to buy the battle pass from chapter 1 season 1 to 7 and then grinder for they styles.

Hmm i've been talking with friends about the BP becoming items shop which your pros and cons was the same as me but one thing i've added is they can do what Paladins (well not the loot chest system) but more having some variant limited to the BP and sale a variant which can be good and not at the same time
something important to note here since you brought up reskins: back in season 9, when summer drift was first leaked, the idea of a previous pass skin being reskinned was about as equally as controversial as flat out selling the original skin (so much so to the point where epic staff spoke out for what i believe was the first and only time about leaked cosmetics), and yet here we are 10 seasons later, with several reskins being consistently made and sold with little to no pushback from the playerbase. to be clear, i'm not saying i necessarily agree with it, but i think epic could honestly get away with this if they were to just wait long enough
I wouldn't mind if they sold the pass skins as long as it's sold for double the price so if the skin is a rare for 1200 it'll be 2400
For me I wouldn't mind it as long as those battle pass skins get an exclusive edit style
They should resell Battle Passes and allow people to put levels towards an old battle pass or the current battle pass. I believe that’s what Halo Infinite plans to do.
I'd love to get a second chance at the Jules skin, bc it's another one those "story" related skins that's locked to a battle pass.
I wasn't playing that season but the times I did play with friends I managed to be the level for her skin Nd didn't buy the pass.
I'm kind of mixed, I mean I don't think rarity matters in fortnite anymore with all the sweats Nd female skins Nd collabs etc.
ITF also has a point by saying that it's not like the battle pass will mean nothing, paying 950vb for a collection of skins items etc is better than say me buying just Jules for 1500vb or even her whole set for over that amount.
It's basically saying u can get what u wanted if u have the money or get everything u want and don't want for a discounted price
This is just an Idea for those who have bought old battle passes epic should add like a different separate section where you can keep track of were you left off and you can continue to finish your old battle passes that way people can complete skin sets and can complete their battle passes from previous years again just an idea for epic for those who bought previous battle passes but didn’t got to finish them up but get a separate way to continue their old battle pass as well as their present battle pass
I honestly hardly ever see people using past battle pass skins.. so I think people should be able to buy a skin if they want to 🤷🏽

Speaking of which did anyone notice that they released a battle pass note from season six in the item shop season six chapter 1 it made me really annoyed
They could actually re-sell complete old Battle Passes and make people grind double the time to get enough stars or levels to unlock both the current season skins and the old ones. They could even make more money selling the new level packs.
Imagine if Fortnite re-sold the Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass and you had to grind or buy 300 more levels during the current season to unlock it all.

im punished for not playing the game at the right time. I have done battle passes in this game. i dont give a shit if people buy it when im done with the grind. these skins mean nothing because no one owns any of the skins they bought which in itself is theft
