Just got this game a couple days ago. Stunned by the art direction. It is another demonstration of the fact that texture resolution or fidelity may be one of the least important factors in presenting a beautiful, powerfully atmospheric feel to a game. The weather effects, movements of the foliage, creature behaviors, world composition, and even what I presume are bump-mapping effects for wetness hold up marvelously in spite of the super low-fi modeling and texture quality. And thats not to mention the serene audio work that has been done here, which further contributes to the atmospheric quality.
Truly a remarkable game. I have no doubt this will end up on many people's "favorites" list as much for the visual case study as the enjoyable gameplay.
Looks like a fun game! However that almost constant screen shake is driving me mad!
