It would make a lot of sense for Konami to take the licensing and outsourcing approach, if you think about it. It’s clear that they don’t think investing in development of AAA games is a good idea, but Konami has a stable of some of the best properties in gaming, and their value is undeniable, and clear for all to see. If they can make money off of these properties by partnering with other developers and having them work on new entries in major franchises, why wouldn’t they?
At this point, that’s little more than conjecture- but then again, conjecture and a truckload of rumours are all we have right now. Supposedly, a reveal for Silent Hill’s revival is imminent, so one way or another, we’ll know soon enough just what the future looks like for the series- or if it even has a future.

What new Silent Hill game? Until there is an OFFICIAL announcement, I won't listen to the rumors.
Considering how Resident Evil and Resident Evil Remakes completely corner both genres I couldn't care less about silent hill anymore. Perhaps Konami saw that.

I disagree, the forth one is underrated af, and i find the shattered memories one as a masterpiece, not as good as the second but better than the first and the third one, also the soundtrack is amazing

When hills was cancelled I was hoping it was another Kojima long con… junji ito monsters, kojima weirdness, del torro, and some Norman reedus sprinkled in was too much to lose.

In my opinion: Silent Hill 4 is scary as hell in it's own way and a great game, but not a great Silent Hill game. Still, it was a decent game this is a bad start for a video like this.

actually all the silent hill games are good….some are greater than others yes & the original 4 games done by team silent were the best in series but all the games were awesome even the least awesome game in the series silent hill homecoming was awesome in its own ways and lets not forget how good silent hill downpour was…the only silent hill game not worth anyone's time is book of memories but lets be honest its not really a silent hill game its just a horror hack & slash with a silent hill skin on it…..also shattered memories was a great retelling of the original game & origins felt so close the the original games to spite not being a team silent game…so silent hill 3 was not the last good silent hill game
