(Summary)

Friday Night Funkin’ week 8 is the long-awaited update to the game since Week 7’s Tankman came out 20 months ago in April of 2021. We haven’t seen boyfriend, girlfriend, pico and friends for a hot minute, and judging by the leaks, we’ll most likely vs Darnell & Nene from Pico’s school (originating on Newgrounds)! The OG FNF devs, such as Phantom Arcade and Ninjamuffin recently held livestreams about FNF twitter, the Kickstarter, and updates we’ve been craving. With competition of FNF mods, the occasional community drama, and talented developers holding the ground until the next base game update, will we see Week 8 before 2023? Let’s try to find some answers!

  12. Game development is hard. They have been working really hard for this update. Just remember it’s been 20 months in development for this update (Over a year). I just hope that they don’t pressure themselves for making this update perfect.

  24. People tend to forget that the next update is not week 8 alone. There will also be a prequel to week 7 (the plane level), The Darnell level has been confirmed to be a separate level and not week 8, erect remixes for every current week, some animated cutscenes (It's been confirmed that only the new weeks will have animated cutscenes in the next update, but every level will have cutscenes the full game), and even more.

    A friend and I wanted to make a game and they could do it because they know how to
    but I did not it is not just something you can do for 5 minutes and hope that you became a 1Millieonair.
    you need to put time into it.
    and in the end all game Die and do not get updated Creations burn in the fire and we all go one with owner live hoping to have owner gaming needs to be resaved
    over all we need to respect people who make games because just like you they are human

  28. I think why people are so impatient is because they only think that it's week 8 that's only being developed when in reality there is way more than that. Also the quality that they have to keep up with to compare to the amazing mods it's no wonder why it's taking so long. They wanna make a great update so everyone can enjoy it and they wanna make it worth everyone's while. Polishing the game and making sure it's good enough so people can enjoy it.

  32. I honestly pretty sure that a new fnf update isn't gonna happen for at least another 8 months. It sounds like they're gonna be adding a lot of content but I kind of feel like it's gonna be a little bit disappointing when it comes out 💀 But hey, I'll be happy when it comes out no matter what.
