Why EVERYBODY Hates These Valorant Maps

In this video I take a look at some of the least popular maps in Valorant (Bind, Breeze and Icebox) and try to dissect what about these maps makes them so hated. As well as what new maps need to do in order to avoid following in their footsteps.

  1. Very nice video as always! I hope this further inspire other content creators to share their opinions on what maps do they like/dislike and why. Hopefully the devs can have better feedback so they can finally create a map the players won't hate.

  2. This entire video felt like it was very much from the perspective of defenders, rather than attackers. I personally love Bind, like Breeze and Fracture, and enjoy Breeze because of how Attacker-sided the maps are. They provide options to outplay opponents who have better aim than you through unique angles, map design (teleporters are fantastic design), and attacker-favored angles (like outside hookah on Bind). Having to play attack into a team that's better than you are on Ascent or Split feels unwinnable, because of how easy it is to stall the main entrances, and how defense-favored mid control is.

  3. tbh I don't like the idea that a map should HAVE to appeal to solo q players cuz it's a team game and if ur playing as a team you would be fine on maps that are more difficult for solo players -someone who hates using comms lol

  4. I think it’s about where fights take place, playing valorant a lot I just seem to take fights in the same spots, same angles! Most the time there is no chance to get creative and try something new, unless you are a specific agent.

  5. I dont think bind is a bad map. Me and my friends have a great habit to instadodge breeze and fracture. We never dodged bind and saw no one. Icebox is a good map nowadays and it considered good long before breeze came. And fracture is hell for defenders.

  6. You make a lot of good points, but IMO the reason why a lot of players hate Breeze and Icebox and love Haven is a lot simpler: they do because the former are large maps that require more skill, better gunplay.

Breeze and Icebox are maps where most of the time enemies will fight each other from longer distances, also as you mention, attacks can come from many angles. Because of that, those maps reward players with better aim, flicking and recoil control, player who can consistently land headshots from long distances.

Spray and praying or killing with bullshit abilities are things that work significantly better on a map like Haven, while not so well on a map like Breeze or Icebox

Fracture also is a map where attacks can come from many angles, more challenging for defenders, it's no surprise to hear that some people already dislike it.
