  4. I had preorders for both the first week they went up so didn’t struggle as hard as many others. The PS5 I got an in store at GS. But the Series X, if you have the money, go for the most expensive bundle off the rip when they go up. That’s how I grabbed that one on day 1 preorders. Most people will check the lower priced bundles at first so you get a leg up and even bots will likely go for those last if at all. Other than that everyone knows follow the right people like Wario64, get stock alerts, have your info saved on the sites and use the apps over website, use paypal as that seems to give an edge, and all that.

    Best Buy does it for sure and I got my cousin one the other day alerting him 30 min after it went up, but they also do incremental stock when they drop, so they stay up for like an hour. Still some luck involved and quickness but Best Buy seems to be a good one.

    TechInn also has both, for like 60 over retail, and they have been up there since launch. However, the delivery date is always like 2 months out. People usually just don’t want to wait. But if they ordered there months ago it would have came in Dec. Now it’s March. So they likely get stock coming in every month or two and allow people to order in advance. Some people say it’s a scam but I saw Wario64 tweeting them out early on and he usually vets well. I think we just don’t have a lot of examples from them because no one wants to wait.

    Also another note is Sam’s Club and Costco allow guest purchases so you don’t necessarily need to buy a membership although signing up for a guest account does take time. Wario also tweets out Exchange which are military only so if you’re in the military they do go up there at times. I’ve also seen near constant bundles at HSN or the Home Shopping Network. They throw in some trash items, like I saw a PS4 controller case because they have no idea the difference, but no one ever tweets HSN out either. With the tariffs it will be harder to get single unit sales as well but a bundle is better than paying a scalper. I think most people know all the methods by now. And even at that it’s still luck of the draw. We have tarrifs, scalpers, and both XBox and AMD, who make the chips for Series X and PS5 said they’re expecting high demand and low supply of chips through second qtr, which would be like through the summer and into next holiday season again. This is like how bad the Wii was except worse than the Wii with everything else going on with it. Just stay on top of updates, follow more posters than just Wario, and follow the tips given and you will get one eventually. Gaming is just bigger than ever with people inside more and everything has been sold out for the past year mostly not even just the new consoles. I couldn’t find an XBox One or PS4 at all last year, tv’s were running out of stock for certain models, iPads were out of stock and hard to find, I still haven’t found an iPad keyboard U was trying to get last year, soundbars have been sold out of certain modela, and it’s just insane all around. Reg people and scalpers all together that want this and are using these same tips and at each drop at the first second and no in store sales have made this insane. And the hype and scarcity make people who may have waited need it right now so they’re all on it as well. Launches are usually bad and have scarcity for a bit, but I’ve never seen one quite this bad though.

  6. I’m excited for both consoles but no problem waiting, I’m not buying anything supply constrained, you make it too easy for scalpers to do what they do. Now if it’s a bread line that’s different, but it’s a game console.

  7. I have both and the lg cx I’m telling you the Xbox is better game pass is so so good and I play that Xbox more the ps5 is nice but the Xbox series x with the elite series 2 controller and the lg cx and steelseries 7x is amazing 🤩

Just wait till April or may it will be available because the Scalpers only have 6 month time window because once it's fully stocked they will easily be caught it was the same with PS4 it became available around April or may worldwide because people were buying multiple ps4s and where selling them for dubble for 5 months straight

  21. When I got the Series X I deliberately stayed up researched and used Twitter to find out about drops and got it a week and a half after it released in November. For the PS5 it was blind luck I was on PS Direct and just got lucky with a short wait time.

  22. I was lucky enough to pin down a pre-order for an Xbox Series X back in September and received my console a day after launch day. I have been rather unsuccessful in trying to acquire a PS5 which has become an impossible task and over here in the UK there have been instances where scalpers have managed to snatch up a stores entire stock a day before its meant to go on sale. I might possibly get lucky at some point but in all honesty I don't think I'll be able to get a PS5 until the second half of the year at this rate.

    What I would say though is that for those myself included who already own either an Xbox Series X, an Xbox Series S, a PS5 regular edition or a PS5 all digital edition, we should consider ourselves lucky.

  23. so I got lucky and got it from Playstation Direct a few days after release and it arrived a week after the US release. My best advice is to go to Playstation Direct and manually refresh it hoping it comes in stock (if playstation direct still does the queues) but that is an unreasonable thing to ask. I just so happened to refresh it at the right moment and was able to buy it online without any hassle and without dedicating a days worth of existence to it.

  37. I've been trying really hard to get the ps5 since it came out. The only time I came close to buying it was in January but I either have to wait in a queue and it's sold out by the time I get there or I add it into my cart and it says that there is an error. You just have to be either really early or really lucky to get one.

  38. My wife scored one for me for Christmas by watching Walmart drops and just trying over and over for up to an hour after the drop time. I think you have a shot up to about an hour after they go up because everyone gets on at the same time and overwhelms the website. There are some websites you can sign up for that refresh every so many seconds checking stock at different stores and will give you an audible alarm when stock is in.
